Outstanding SUV in it's class
After ~3 months of research and test driving, the wife and I agreed that the 2025 Palisade checked all of the boxes for a third row SUV. We chose this class of vehicle because we want and use something of this size regularly, even though our family is all grown and moved out. We wanted something that was luxurious, but not overly pretentious or ridiculously expensive (which a number of options in this class were). I was impressed at first by the reliability rating given this vehicle after it had been on the market for 4+ years. Drivers were reporting very favorably on it, so I gave it a serious look, along with Kia's Telluride. While both performed admirably, the ride, feel and look of the Palisade just struck us as "in our lane". I won't list all of the other 10 options we considered, but I'll also tell you that I never gave Hyundai a serious thought until I read about it's reliability. That really got my attention. After driving it multiple times, we found our trim package we liked (Calligraphy, Black exterior, Navy/White interior). I will say this: While I like the look of high gloss black paint, it sure does show every raindrop, smudge, and dirt known to man. I'll admit I have some regret getting this color only for that reason. I have to wash it very frequently to keep it's nice look. In hindsight, I would have chose probably the Silver. But all things being equal, I am VERY happy overall with our choice. We've put over 16K miles on it in the past 18 months, taking it on road trips into Mexico, as well as Southern California, and just love to drive this vehicle. The intelligent cruise control systems make those long drives so enjoyable. There's only a small handful of accessories that I wish this had: Automatic folding mirrors. Wireless Android auto/Carplay. Built in front/rear dashcams. The new 2026 models have all of this, so I'm glad to see Hyundai listened to it's customers and included all of those. I've zero regret buying this vehicle, and when/if the time comes to replace, I'll look to the newer version with those upgrades I missed out on.
