Love the vehicle

I traded in my 2020 Palisade for the 2026 because I liked the former one so much. The new 2026 is even a better vehicle. I looked at other SUVs like the Tahoe and firmly believe that the new Palisade is a much better vehicle and definitely a better buy.

Palisade XRT expectation fail

Several things could be better. Automatic “walk-away” door locks and, garage door opener comes to mind. Back doors that unlock on touch instead of front doors only. One touch up/down for ALL windows. Wireless Bluetooth-CarPlay that connects consistently and quickly. Allow more “dashboard” functions to be programmable on the steering wheel.

Recalls

I have had so many problems with this palisade, twice I’ve been driving and it goes to 29mph, beeps and will not go any faster. There is a stuck open guard that has probably been that way and then recalls. So I have to take time to have it checked out and then when all parts come in I have to return for all repairs. Unacceptable for a new vehicle when I pay over $600/month for it.

Our Palisade

All the tech is taking some getting used to and it is almost overwhelming. I am not a fan of several things, such as the shift on the steering column, the auto stop is a small button hidden from view and even though I don't want to use that feature, there is no way to turn it off permanently. A nice feature that is a pretty simple one to install in all Palisades, that we don't have in the XRT, is driver seat memory buttons. I haven't had a car in 10 years without this feature and had no idea how much I would miss having it. The I have found the motor is undersized for the size of vehicle. It has a super slow start and almost feels as though it will only go if you get down on the accelerator. I would love to have a more responsive engine and transmission. Last, we towed a 2014 Toyota Corolla from San Antonio, using a car dolly. It was well within the limits of the Palisade's stated tow capacity, however it struggled to pull the small vehicle. When I got about an hour from Tyler, it was acting as if the engine were going to die every time I stopped a red light. The transmission temp got up around 275 degrees when the problems began. I notified my dealer of what I experienced, but no one seemed interested and made no offer to look into possible causes. Other than those things, the comfort of the vehicle is unmatched!

Great style needs power

Love the style and comfort of this vehicle. Rides nice with a lot of creature comforts. Mileage is so so for this size engine, maybe because it’s under powered for this vehicle. My biggest complaint is the size of the fonts on the dash. Too many s mall fonts. Overall, I think I’m gonna really like this vehicle.
