Santa Fe XRT off road
I got the XRT expecting an off road capable vehicle. I took it on one easy trail, it did good in the soft dirt and loose gravel once I put it in the all wheel drive mode. There was a slightly more complicated part, I am not knocking down stars because of the capability. It preformed beyond expectations, I am knocking down stars due to the cheap materials used on the lower side trims. It cracked easily and does not hold up to any type of pressure. I went to the dealership to see how much the replacement prices were and they were ridiculously expensive. The front bumper alone was $3000. That is absolutely crazy considering this was marketed as an off road capable vehicle. People are going to crack and break those trim pieces and you guys are charging over 10% of the vehicle cost to get the pieces. I am capable of swapping the pieces myself to save on labor but it is still quoted at around 7k for all the pieces. Hyundai does not offer any type of lift kit, the push guard is completely inadequate and does not protect anything, nor is there any type of skid plate. I do not want this to be all bad, the all wheel drive is amazing, the tow capacity is great, and the stock tires are a great addition. The hand holds are super convenient and I love them. I am looking forward to more trips with it but without the additions of the above mentioned add ons I do not think I will be keeping this vehicle long term.
