As the South Westnedge facility was beginning to show its age, we relocated to our current location at 6230 Lovers Lane. Our new, state of the art building allows us to provide the same excellent service in a more convenient location.

Upon arrival, Denzel (if my memory serves me) introduced himself and engaged in some friendly banter with me to help ease my stress. After running through the scenario that led us to meeting, he did some preliminary diagnosing of his own, and we arrived at roughly the same conclusion—my transmission would likely need to be replaced. Given that this happened on a Sunday roughly 5 hours from my home, my knee-jerk reaction was to tow my car to the closest, most “recognizable” auto repair shops around to hopefully get the car checked out as quickly as possible. Luckily for me, Denzel is a true professional, and talked me through my reactionary impulses. He extended his sympathy for me and provided me with what he believed was my best alternative, and I couldn’t be more grateful. After some discussion, we both agreed that it was in my best interest to have the car towed to Crossroads Auto Service, a sister company of Graham’s Towing & Recovery. Shortly after making this decision, I received a phone call from the operator notifying me that because I chose to have my car towed to Crossroads Auto Service for diagnostics and repair, my initial tow quote would decrease from $175 to $125 and would not have to be paid until the repairs were made and the car was picked up. Another breath of fresh air during a time of turmoil.
While heading to drop off my car at the shop (Crossroads), Denzel asked if I was planning on staying in Portage until the repairs were made, to which I replied rather quickly, “I need to get back home tonight!”. He immediately offered to take me to the airport to get a rental car prior to dropping the car off at the shop. Not to add to the mileage of the tow, not for an extra buck for the company, but because he genuinely cared to help me in my time of need to the fullest extent of his reach.
Car in tow, rental car confirmed, peace of mind making its way back, we made our way to Crossroads and dropped the car off. Fully prepared with having to come to the realization that I would need a new transmission, I made my way back home awaiting the dreaded phone call that would follow in the coming days.
Not even 24 hours after dropping the car off, I received a phone call from James @ Crossroads Auto Service. I gave him the run down of exactly what happened and let him know that I thought it may be the transmission. A few short hours later, I received that dreaded phone call from James. “How bad is it?”, I asked. To which James replied, “Not bad at all, actually, I think you’re going to be very happy! The transmission is fine—it was actually just the Left Axel Shaft. We’ll have it ready to go tomorrow and you can come pick it up whenever you find the time. We’ll work with your schedule.”
To say I was elated would be an understatement. Prepared to either total the car or replace the transmission, this was the best possible outcome, complimented by the best experience I’ve ever had with an auto repair/tow service! The repairs were made within 48 hours of drop off (Sunday) and , thanks to their patience, was able to pick it up and pay for everything 10 days later.
Tow, diagnostics, parts, and labor all for under $700. Very satisfied customer.
