Unauthorized Work, Cash Extortion, & Held Vehicle Hostage. Beware!
I had an deeply disappointing and predatory experience here. I brought my 2017 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid in strictly for a check engine light diagnostic and a standard maintenance check. Without my authorization and before even speaking to me or my husband, the shop performed unapproved services. They later claimed damage that was not present before the car was in their care and Ivan inflated parts to fix that damage by 500%. He then tried to hold my vehicle hostage, demanding $1,000 despite the existence of a contract.
When I arrived with local law enforcement (BCSO Case #BCSO-2026-0429038) and a flatbed tow truck to retrieve my car under Texas Property Code § 70.001, the owner continued to block the peaceful release of my vehicle until I was coerced into paying cash out-of-pocket just to get my keys back.
Documented formal complaints have already been submitted to the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division (#TCP-069573) and after researching further, this is not the first time this exact same incident has occurred.
If you value your time, your money, and honest business practices, I strongly advise taking your vehicle anywhere else.
