I took my 2019 GMC 2500 diesel to Gains. The batteries were losing charge. They tested the batteries and said they were bad. I told them to go ahead and replace them. When I picked the truck up I was surprised. My bill was $567.75. The batteries cost $360.00. That was reasonable but the cost to take two batteries out and put two new ones in was &135.00 plus $34.71 shop supplies. When you add tax that’s $181.58 or $90.79 per battery. First what shop supplies are needed to change a battery. I called around and the cost was $20.00 per battery or less. I checked back today to make sure there wasn’t a mistake and he said that was what his charted showed. I have spent a lot with Gains in the past couple of years but I feel this charge was way out of line.
