I have to correct your statement. You didn't request to check the battery, your request was to look for a current draw that was emptied your battery.
We started the process to look for current draw. To perform that we had to used a charged battery because yours was totally emptied.
We installed a new battery and looked for the current draw. After a detail search and messurements, the technician concluded that your car had no current draw, the actual draw was under the normal values for any car.
With this determination, the technician moved forward to test your battery which failed the test.
We called you to informed the results of our finding and quote you for replacing your battery for a new one.
You didn't approved the job nor agreed with the technical determination that your car had no current draw but a bad battery. Based on your decision we removed our new battery and reinstalled your old one.
We charged you for all this diagnostic process which took more than one hour.
You called us after you took your car, and asked if we would wave off what you already paid if you coma back to replace the battery and we told you that we will do that, but you didn't come.
We respect your wish to trust your instincts more that a diagnostic performed by an auto certified technician, in a shop that guaranty its repairs and in the case of batteries provides 2 years warranty for them.

We reject your comments about unethical action.
You brought your car to us saying that you have been going to so many different mechanics. That you wanted your car running quaietly and safetly in the highway at 70 M/h. You also told us that you weren't sure if you will drive it or towed it because the engine stoped several times and had a lot of vibration.
We quoted the three main problems, vibration, lack of suspension and Oil Leaking. You approved the job related with vibration and Oil Change, and rejected the other 2.
Even dough it was not included in your approval, we cleaned all the spark plugs from the oil coming through the leak, because we had to look at them for the diagnostic, and didn't charge you for that.
When you came to pick up the car, you denied that you gave us authorization to do oil change. when it was your original request when you dropped your car. You rose your voice and showed an hysterical behavior.
We decided to do not charged you the oil change, but I also instructed to all employees to do not serve your cars any more. You are not the kind clients we want to have.
Now we understand why you didn't want to give us your address when you dropped your car or your e-mail. We do not know you except for this current situation, based on that the lack of ethic is on your side.

You do not have to apologize, we are the ones who have to apologize to you because we were unable to find the root cause of the problems. Most of the cars today comes with a central computer that controls al systems. The way to diagnose problems is login in that computer with our diagnostic software reading the error codes and follow the trouble shouting instructions.
Shiloh did follow all those steps but unfortunately the error signal came back and neither the diagnostic software nor our technical knowledge allowed us to reach the source of the problems.

Unfortunately today cars are more and more depending on computers and for diagnostic any issue the techs should also follow the trouble shouting process using the diagnostic tools and software.
