Quick tire swap?
I made the apointment online asked them.to text me a quote for swapping 4 off road 35's Black Rhino's with Ridge Grapplers and put back on the 4 factory original tires including swapping out the 4 tpms sensors. No quote sent so I showed up and a guy walked...'what ya need?' I informed him I had a noon appointment, and then went on to explain what I needed, fairly simple, so I thought. His response. "Ok..give me.the keys" of course I asked..."How much?" $120. Ok.that's fair. I had been to 3 other places askimg around the last.few weeks and their quotes were $144 (discount tire) $117 (Walmart), and $130 (roadside tire shop). So I felt this was a fair price. I cinfirmed the TPMS sensor swap would be included. "No, that would be $150." So I was willimg to go back to one of the other places...but he stopped.me..."no, no, it's ok, $120 we will see"...and proceeded to go move the truck. I asked i side to confirm the price was $120 & the guy left to go ask, returned to confirm $120. This is when I started to get the run around. I was told 2 of the valve stems were the wrong kind on the original tires yet the right ones had quickly beed installed becaise he was showing me in his hands what he was calling the wrong one...(these are 4 tires that came with the truck, brand new, and I had on when the off road tires were put on and tpms were swapped - no way the wrong valve stems were on 2 of these tires) "How much is that?" I asked..."$15 each", he said. I laughed, "Oh so we're back to $150 again?" I called him on this. "They were not the wrong one's yesterday when I had Walmart do this work already... thew swapped all 4 and all 4 tpms just yesterday, no problems but when their Manager actually made them put everything back because they were not supposed to handle any work on used tires. True story. Sucked for me, because I waited almost 2 hours for their mistake jist to be back to square one". Back to this guy, he quickly changed his story after I called his BS....."Ok, ok, it's ok, I will just do it." 15 min later, he walks in dangling the keys. No comments, no run down on anything. So I pay and go to the truck. I check the dash and wait for the TPMS screen to show....it has 1 back passenger side tire at 25 psi. He approaches the window. "All.ok?" "No l, the warning signal for tpms showing and not showimg tire pressures." He says,"just drive it and if it doean't go away, come back." So I drive down the street, and no change so I get out with my own compressor and check the back pass side and it's at 38 psi...not matching up. The front pass side is at 25 psi. So I take it back and show him. He says.he has a tool to.fix it and goes off to.find it. Then his partner comes up and says, "We charge $30 to relearn the TPMS". Again, I laugh, "he's gettimg the tool to do that." He finally get's the sysyem relearn done and dash shows correct sensors but still sitting at 25 psi, so I used my portable compressor to top it off myself. Needless to say, I won't be back. Be careful with these guys. They will try to poke your eyes out if you let them.
