Love My 2025 GV70

I love everything about my GV70. It was a loaner car when my regular car was in the shop for 3 weeks. In that time, I fwell in love with the loaner. My first stop after I got my regular car out of the shop was the local Genesis dealer. Had my new Genesis that night, and it's been my "go to" regular vehicle ever since.

The good and the bad

I would say that I’m satisfied with the vehicle. The interior is roomy and comfortable, and I believe it to be as nice if not nicer than the competitive BMW & Mercedes in the class. There are no rattles and everything seems very tight. I think the transmission wheel and accessory wheel being right on top of each other to be a bit of a misstep. Other than that, I think the interior is excellent. It’s a bit disappointing that a $55,000 vehicle does not come with heads up display and the only way to get it is to purchase the highest levelprestige line. $30,000 Toyota’s, Hondas and Mazda’s have heads up display. To only offer heads up display on the top line prestige edition is a bit stingy. The four-cylinder turbo is pretty quick, however, in comfort mode, which is the default setting, there is a bit of a lag in accelerating quickly from a standstill. Switching to sport mode seems to take away the lag. Overall, I am satisfied with the vehicle, but I only have 2500 miles behind me. Time will tell.

For the price, the competition is considerably behind.

Initial quality seems great and the car is well engineered, easy to drive, and comfortable. The ride is smooth and quiet and the car feel very solid and robust. The console is nicely done which was one of the reasons you pulled me away from our Acura RDX which still looks like a transformer toy in 2025.

Some Great Features, Others Lacking

The comfort, drive and build quality is exceptional but the reliability and performance of the technology is woefully inadequate, especially for a luxury brand. Cabin noise is also below average based on other brands that I have driven. Examples include fingerprint ID that works about 30% of the time, key fobs that are even less reliable for automatic start or sensing presence for automatic liftgate, locking and unlocking. Even my wife's Ford Escape (far from a luxury vehicle) has more logical and reliably performing technology.
