Love it

Overall we love this car. It is. Very comfortable for both short and long trips. Fun to drive. Handles well and is very peppy . Voice commands to the GPS work great. Way better than my Mbz. Wish the passenger seat had massage like the driver's seat. My wife really misses it. Very disappointed with the Adaptive cruise control and cannot useit It keeps beeping repeatedly and shutting down while telling me to keep my eyes on the road ( even though I am looking straight ahead at the cars in front of me)

Tempermental Infotainment System. Went cheap on ambient lighting

This is my third GV 70. While I still thoroughly enjoy this vehicle, the Infotainment System is buggy. In particular the Sirius XM aspect. I intermittently get "antennae problem, "Sirius XM Loading" all the while the radio is playing. I can't change the station when this happens. I have had to pull over, shut the car off and go into Accessory Mode to reset the system and then it works fine until it happens again. It seems to happen when I touch the radio button on the dash. I brought it to the dealership and they told me they are getting no error messages when they diagnosed so I just have to live with it. I have a Sports Prestige which is the top end model. Genesis removed the ambient lighting on the door rests which was a favorite of mine. Oddly the lower end models have the ambient lighting on the door rests as well as the same ambient lighting as the Sports Prestige.

Very comfortable cockpit. All of the controls are all very assessable

The car is smooth driving, quiet, and a joy to drive. I'm still learning the electronics and how to operate them. there is plenty of leg room in the rear seats and climate controls. With the rear seats down it is spacious to haul most anything of size.

Major Design Flaw

I was carrying a bottle of dish soap when I was cut off engaging the cars safety system. In doing so it cause the bottle tip over and spill in the trunk. under the trunk is your spare tire and the battery and transfer casings. They have quoted me $13,000 to fix just for a spill. I had just put a cargo liner in the trunk a week prior and that didn't help apparently. These parts need to be better protected if they are going to be near the trunk. If you can't carry any kind of liquid in the trunk then where then? I have had the car for a month...it has taken two weeks to get a legit quote from Genesis. By the time the car is fixed and I get it back they will have had it longer then I have because of a spill in the trunk!

Good, almost great vehicle

Loaded 2026 GV70 3.5, also had loaded 2025 GV80 3.5. I have a couple quirks that may just be isolated: rattle (loose bolt now fixed), driver assistance malfunction warning (random), weird/unintuitive proximity fob function and just "meh" sound. Rattle: benefit of the doubt this is a one-off and not typical manufacturing. Warning: annoying, dealer can't consistently replicate. It shows up as a warning like a check engine notification but apparently not stored for diagnostics. Hoping this is a software fix. Fob: dealer confirmed functioning as intended... but it's not great. When you approach a $75k car with a fob the mirrors should unfold, some lights should shine, and the vehicle should unlock when you put your hand on the handle. There's no rhyme or reason on this one...I mean zero. It can either lock, unlock, only unlock driver, activate on touch, handle pull, etc... Sound: I found the GV80 luxurious and comfortable, but the performance was uninspiring, adequate, but even in sport+ you wouldn't throw it into a corner like some of the European competitors. I found the GV70 inspiring from a performance and handling perspective. I do wish, however, in sport+ it sounded inspiring as well. I know, I know, the market is luxury first, performance second... however I'd rather have sound deadening or even better exhaust settings like European competitors. The synthetic sound just isn't the same. Don't misconstrue because I called out drawbacks, it's a very very good car... these are just the things holding it back from great, in my opinion.
