Weird Transmission

Like a lot of its features but the high rpms from zero to 20 starting at bottom Of hill sounds like something is terribly wrong with the transmission. Or something. Service department is beyond inconvenient. Leave for 2 weeks to get a diagnosis.

Reasonably priced, very good mpg

Fun to drive, lots of voice command options. About 50mpg @ 60mpg max mixed freeway & in town. Limited version has lots of extras, including pre-set seat positions for 2 drivers.

Great car. A pleasure to drive

Great MPG, which is why we chose this vehicle. The only disappointment is the 'Tire Pressure Indicator'. Whoever designed this to only show a readout for tire pressure AFTER driving for 0.3 miles made a tactical mistake. It's USEFUL to know the tire pressure BEFORE getting on the road.

It’s an ok car

The car is ok,l but when I purchased the car it would say that I was getting around 50-56mpg. Now I’m lucky if it goes to 46mpg in just 2months. So yes I'm a little disappointed with the range it’s getting.

Best hybrid I've ever owned!

I've driven several hybrid cars - mostly Toyotas (the Prius, the Camry). The Elantra Hybrid is the best one I've driven in terms of driving experience. It's a well-built car with a lot of great features, and it's affordable to boot. I feel like I got a lot for my money.

Some rough edges

Overall it is good. Quick, efficient and comfortable. Some things could be better though. 1. The lane follow assist is very unreliable. Switches off without warning making crashing a very real possibility. 2. Acceleration from standstill is not smooth. I can feel the gears switch and jerk slightly. 3. LKA, LFA vs HDA is very complicated system, both to track and set. 4. LFA is not remembered between restarts 5. Software interface could be much simpler and smoother. 6. Smart Cruise stop and go should be 5 minutes not 3 seconds
