Persistent Factory Problems (unresolved)

The transmission was replaced around 30,000 miles which is way too soon for a "new" car. Even after it was replaced, the problems that led to a new transmission still occur, and now that my car is above 60,000 miles, I'd have to pay out of pocket to fix the issues. The car was manufactured with problems the certified dealership couldn't resolve, and for that, the car gets two stars. About 80% of the times I engage the cruise control, no matter the speed (such as 28 mph) the engine will automatically rev up the rpms to 3500 and stay there... Even if I'm only driving 28 mph. This is why the transmission needed replaced, and it probably needs it again. I don't have the money to fix it, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it until the car craps out and trade it in.

Still a GREAT vehicle

My first hyundai and ive been in it for almost 3 years now. The features are premium for the starting price point and the reliability is top notch. The tire pressure sensors are a bit frustrating since filling to recommended doesn't reset the sensor error. You have to over-fill to get the car to stop reminding you about a problem that doesn't still. But over all 10/10 for me. Very reliable and im happy with the purchase.

An economical vehicle

Happy with the Elantra so far. Nice transportation with some nice capabilities and add-ons. Time will tell whether it holds up. Not thrilled to have to pay for the Bluelink access after the third year.

Average vehicle

The best thing I loved about my vehicle was the incredible fuel mileage. However with less than 70,000 miles, the vehicle already had a bad motor mount and an issue with the engine and or transmission surging. The engine vibration was annoying as was the transmission surging and the RPM going up and down at highway speeds. The Hyundai dealership was advised and did nothing to fix it.
