2024 Ioniq6 SEL - A Reliable & Efficient EV with Good Range

A Good, Reliable & Efficient EV with reliable DC charging to get you to places. A styling that will turn some heads. Desperately in need to improve on the harsh rides, wind noise, road noise, for this class of car. DC charging is reliable. It works every time I plugged in the CCS connector which is really as I have seem a few other EV struggled with DC charging. However, it needs to improve on the DC charging speed. At one point, I was getting 200+ Kwh speed for a short while and now mostly average between 130 -170 Kwh. Don't know what has changed.

My dream operating machine

Every time I get behind the wheel of my Ioniq 6, I'm reminded why I chose this car. The driving experience is composed and confident, the 800V charging architecture makes long trips genuinely stress-free, and the cabin technology and safety suite are well ahead of anything in this price range. My frustrations are aimed at Hyundai's U.S. market strategy rather than the car itself — the refreshed model has been available globally, but Hyundai hasn't committed to bringing updated model years stateside, which is a real letdown for loyal buyers. The one actual vehicle gripe: the trunk lid geometry channels water directly into the cargo area when the car is wet, which is a sloppy design oversight on an otherwise thoughtfully engineered machine. I'm on a lease ending in early 2027 and had fully planned to purchase the latest model year outright — the fact that Hyundai may not give me that option is the most disappointing part of what has otherwise been an exceptional ownership experience. Highly recommend the car; approach Hyundai's U.S. product planning with lower expectations.

This was probably the best car I had by far - fast charging, decent range and good storage room. Would’ve upgraded to a 2026 if it hadn’t been discontinued

Excellent Car Needs a Few Changes

Powerful, quiet, and handles well. Too many proximity alarms and other warning noises. Location of gear shifter is odd and inconvenient. Door lock/unlock button in center console is extremely inconvenient. Sound system and other dashboard controls are hard to use without looking away from driving. Replace most of them with analog buttons and knobs.

Excellent Car With Great Potential

The car is stunning. It gets a lot of looks but has room for improvement. There’s no physical buttons or knobs for the AC, which makes it hard to drive / use during drives with little to no stops. The fact that the car is close to being discontinued in the US is a bit worrying should it need repairs. I’ve also experienced moments when the car is plugged into a charger and it doesn’t get recognized adding more to my worries. I didn’t know about these issues and other issues reported, prior to my purchase, with a high price tag.
