I think it is a phenomenal vehicle for what it offers, but can improve
The Ioniq 6 is very good. High Positives are the comfort, space, suspension, interior design/lighting, range, performance, charging speed, leather steering, drive mode switching, and exterior design. I have done extensive research, both before and after purchasing this car, and there are very few cars that can live up to the Ioniq 6 in the above aspects at its price point, which is a great sign since these are many of the core aspects.
However, there are definitely several areas for improvement. The mids of this car are drive-assisting technology, interior materials, and storage. While the lane-keep and steer-assist are great, the lane-switch is mediocre, and there is no other support for more autonomous self driving. While this isn't a deal-breaker, if the car had better autonomous technology and/or parking assist like many of its competitors, from tesla (which is much cheaper) to mercedes to chevy (also cheaper) to bmw, this would easily be a 5 star vehicle. The interior materials are also a minimal-cost way to improve the vehicle- if the cloth-like material on the doors and center console storage was leather, the materials would feel high end, which would further justify the price-point of this car.
The lows are lack of wireless android auto/carplay, lack of a 360 camera on the non-limited trim, finicky/inconsistent door locking, and a difficult-to-use frunk design.
The lack of wireless auto/carplay is truly disappointing-- other hyundai vehicles that are even older and not electric have this basic feature. For being an electric, "tech-forward" vehicle from a tech-forward car company, I'm surprised and disappointed that this is a feature that was missed out on. This would drastically improve the experience and safety of this vehicle, as the USB-A wired auto/carplay connection has also been finicky despite switching cables.
Next, the lack of the 360 camera is another aspect that can be improved upon; I believe that this is a basic feature that could be standard on these vehicles that wouldn't increase the price too much. This is especially important because it's not only a convenience feature, it is a safety feature as well. Our Chevy Equinox EV, which we bought for 30k on-the-road had this feature included.
