Value for money first car

Kona wasn't my first choice but still is a very good decision. It's small but affordable; has high value for money as it has safety features you would find in higher tier SUVs. Power is a bit lacking and being FWD isn't as reassuring driving in Winter as an AWD (an AWD option is available, I think). Being a small crossover SUV, it lacks in capacity. However, it has never let me down, so reliability is good. It gets me where I want to go and has very good mileage per tank full of gas. If there was another model in stock when I came in to choose a car, I would've chosen an AWD one with heated seats and steering wheel, and possibly a remote start. That said though, as a first car, you can't go wrong with the Kona.

Tiny and Mighty Just like me!

When the Kona first came out in 2018, I said to myself, that’s my car! It took me a few years but in 2023 I finally got my dream car. Hyundai and I have a very long history. The first brand new car my mom bought was the Hyundai Excel back in 1987. I was driving my mom to her friend’s house when all of a sudden I told her, “Ma hold on!” I saw through the rearview mirror that a car was coming at high speed. The car continued to plow the cars behind us which made us plow into a Cadillac in front of us. The Cadillac flipped over while my mom‘s Hyundai Excel stayed intact with just a dents and dings! After that accident, I said to myself, I will always buy a Hyundai!! That car saved mine and my mom’s life! My Kona is FUN to drive! I enjoy using the sport mode when necessary. It handles wonderful during the winter months here in New York. It is great on gas and I love all the bells and whistles that came with my Kona N Line. I’m glad that the new Kona is bigger which is good since my husband is 6 feet tall so I’m thinking of trading mine in.

I bought a Kona in 2020 after reviewing them online. I traded in 2023 for a new Kona. The size is perfect, not too big or small, great gas mileage, handles well and the features are all user friendly.

Hardworking car

I purchased my car brand new and have since moved from the south to the northeast back to the south and back to the northeast, in 2 years I’ve put almost 60k miles on it and it still runs great. Maintenance has never been a problem. My only wish was it was a little larger more like an SUV because I have large dogs. Overall it has moved me and my pets all over the place and still runs great. Shows no signs of weakness or slowing down

2023 Kona

I leased a 2021 limited kona and fell in love, when my lease was up I upgraded to the 2023 n line. I love the car, however I have issues with the tire sensors( and it was evident from the beginning noticing the service at 889 miles for that exact reason. Unfortunately, I've already had to spend over 400 dollars on a 2023 for a new break and resurfacing or of said break at 17k miles. Was told it was due to rust and asked if the vehicle sits for a long period of time. It is used everyday. Have had nothing but issues unfortunately, albeit I loved my 2021 kona with 0 issues in the 3 years I leased it.
