Absolutely Wonderful

I’ve had a positive experience with my Hyundai Kona. It’s a great commuter car with its amazing mpg. It’s comfortable and the displays are user friendly.

Great Vehicle

Love my Kona. 2 complaints. 1. You can’t open the hatch while the car is running. 2. And biggest complaint is the voice text. I constantly send people messages that say “what do you want” because the Siri cuts off while I’m talk texting. It’s really annoying. My last Hyundai did the same thing too. The connection is better than my last Hyundai. My last vehicle would lose connection and I’d lose the map. Once I had to pull over to try to fix it and would I’m getting side swiped. Hyundai please fix tje text message talk texting feature.

Great vehicle, rides nice, fairly quiet. Cruise control needs work.

I’m very pleased with the vehicle except for the active cruise control. * When I activate cruise control it starts at set speed - 2 mph then slowly creeps up to set speed. * With cruise control engaged, if I speed up then let off the accelerator the cat slows to set speed - 2 or 3 mph then slowly creeps up to set speed. * when the car in front of me moves into a turn lane (no longer in front of me) and slows down my car slams on the breaks as I pass by that car. * When I disengage cruise to slow down then re-engage it slowly creeps up to set speed. I think the control loop has too much damping and the sensor view angle may be too wide. Maybe a software change would correct these Very Annoying issues.

I love this car. A few small changes would have made it perfect.

I have no regrets with this purchase, except maybe to have gotten the convenience package or limited (sort of?). What I love about the convenience package is the cup holders and larger display. My cup holders on my SEL are too close together so two large drinks with lids is very tight and pulling one out can pull off a lid. However, I prefer the shifter in the SEL to the shifter in the higher models. What I love about the limited is the surround view monitor for parking, mostly because I am terrible with parallel parking or parking in tight spaces. However, I always prefer cloth seats to leather. I do wish the adaptive cruise control was a standard safety feature. I don’t understand how a vehicle can be so beautiful with a key that is so ugly and large and that still does not fit the emergency key. That’s a strange thing to me.
