250,000 miles more before I know

At 6.9% interest for 7 years, warranties to 110,000 miles, $7000 down I'll end up paying $48,900 for this $25,000 car, mostly because of the phycological strategies and torture dealers know how to execute (and I even sold cars for 6 years, but not they way they do now). On a fixed income so it has to last the entire finance cycle and survive the 70 miles I have to drive everyday - so will have to wait and see... If I hadn't bought it at night and told them any color but silver I would have preferred black or white. It looked black when the dealer pulled it up, didn't see it was Denim Blue Pearl until I finally saw it in the light 2 days later. This color doesn't have the gloss that other colors do and looks like it needs to be waxed all the time, no matter what you do. All the driving safety features adds a ton of sensors to the car, but it has to be the exact same feature unit that almost every new car is now using. Some of it I like, but you can get messed up by the automatic front hazard braking: 3 times so far, I've hit the gas to get around someone and the car decided I should have been hitting the brakes not increasing my speed, there isn't a fast way for me to tell the car I going to turn the steering wheel to go around and "stay centered in your lane" feature just makes it hard to drive playing tug-a-war with the steering wheel. At least I know how to turn that one off. And if I had the money, I would have taken a leather seat package - the fabric seats they have are the most incredible dust magnets I've ever seen. I had even noticed it renting one from Avis for a month. I thought is was the craziest thing I have noticed but I haven't had anyone else say anything. I even asked a couple of Avis staff and then 3 others at the dealership what was up with Hyundai's fabric seats, have you ever noticed the attraction they have. It's like they are magnetized, have negative ion charge or a dust focused tractor beam - but none of them had noticed anything other than an old man asking crazy questions about the seats in fabric.

A Solid Upgrade

We leased a 2023 Kona and decided to take the plunge and finance the 2025 model, and it's a sizable upgrade in several ways, with a few minor caveats. The infotainment screen is much larger, and the digital dashboard feels premium without feeling over-designed. The volume and tuning rockers on the old steering wheel are replaced by textured metal wheels that are tactile and responsive. The bluetooth connectivity is much faster than it was on the 2023 Kona, near-instantly connecting CarPlay without any fiddling. While there are driver profiles you can select and customize, they seem to be limited to software presets and do NOT affect seat positioning--one of the key reasons to have driver profiles. We also noticed that the Kona seemed to ride a little higher than expected, with a visible gap between the tire and the vehicle itself, almost as if the suspension was jacked up. Reading reviews, we saw some pre-release indicators that reviewers found the ride a little rough, so perhaps this was in response to that? Either way, it's an odd look and makes it look like the Kona had its pant legs pulled up. The driver assist functions are better than they were in the 2023 Kona, but still feel overly aggressive at times--particularly the 'stay-in-lane' assist, which still has some trouble with temporary lines on the road from construction. Lastly, we've noticed some periodic grinding in the gear shifting, particularly going from reverse to drive when backing out of our garage and turning onto the road.

Love car but service department left a lot to be desired

The car had an unknown electrical failure when it was driven off the lot. It was blamed on the car being vandalized on my property for one evening. My insurance paid for the damage. It did not happen on my property. Your dealership could have given some goodwill here

Limp mode

At 292 miles on the odometer, it went into Limp Mode on a very busy tollway with heavy trucks going 55 mph. Very scary! The tow truck came and took it to the closest Hyundai dealer. I went to pick it up the following day after the dealer called. The service advisor said it was due to a “Loose connection in the CVT computer” and all is fine. No part was replaced. The salesman just said “I’m sorry to hear that “ What about the expense, agrevation and Scare that my wife and I incurred?

Interior needs redesign for limited model(most expensive)

Love size, ride is good but interior for the luxury model needs redesign. The passenger seat is totally manual. I paid for luxury and that isn’t it. Also the console is not enclosed. I couldn’t believe the front is open so everything rolls out into the cup holder area. It makes no sense. Why is it not enclosed?
