With few negatives, this is the perfect car for most people.

Excellent power and economy with the 1.6turbo engine. Fine driving characteristics, quiet and controlled with good forwad and side visibility. Rear window a bit obstructed by head restraints in the rear. The SEL premium lacks a few comfort features such as trunk release buttons, but they are all available in limited trim.

New car is disappointing.

Frequent dealer visits. Vehicle diagnostic function not working. Cannot see instrument cluster during daytime hours. Leaking oil.

Initial impressions

Three months into ownership and I am very happy with my purchase. I was looking for a relatively roomy and efficient vehicle and the Kona delivered. Attached a trailer hitch first month(easy DIY, thanks Hyundai) so I could use my bike rack and have taken it to most of the regional parks for day trips. Most of the time I am averaging 36-39 mpg. Checks all the boxes for what I want my car to do.

The Kona Limited is a great crossover SUV. Some features that are included with the Kona Limited are heated steering wheel heated and ventilated seats, leather seats sunroof.

Love the new design of the 2026 Kona and the color!

I love the new design of the exterior Kona with door detail and black matte wheelwell accent. The new greenish color makes me happy. I do feel like I am sitting too low and would prefer to sit higher or have the ability to raise the seat. A few of the functions like the windshield wipers work the opposite of the prior version which is confusing at times when driving.
