Great car, reliability mixed

Comfortable, well-equipped, and great MPG. However, engine failure and long block replacement at 30K miles due to piston ring failure is ridiculous. Well-maintained, top-tier fuel, all maintenance completed at dealership. Add this to the oil consumption issue I fear, and I just can't recommend this car for people who may be looking for long-term reliability. Warranty covered it, dealership was outstanding, but the warranty should be a critical, emergency use situation... not the norm. Overall 3/5. I would have given it 5/5 a month ago, but the surprise failure and constant barrage of articles about the problems with the GDi engine are starting to wear on me. I may consider a hybrid or electric as another car, but it would take an exceptional deal to get me there. Otherwise, Toyota and Honda may be my next choice of car.

Lexi's Ride

We love our Palisade it is roomy it rides really smooth and having the 3rd row is very convenient. It is a very sharp looking car and we received a lot of compliments on it when we first got it. The warranty really sold us on this car, it's one of the best warranties in the car industry today. Best decision we ever made was purchasing our Palisade.

I have enjoyed my SUV and having the third row option. The trunk space is generous. My gas mileage is decent and it drives very well.

It’s a good car, miss my old SantaFe

Bought the Palisade because the Santa Fe no longer comes V6, and the V4 with turbo (we know 4 cylinders aren’t enough for a SUV) have well documented engine problems. While overall I am happy, there are a number of quality issues that reduce my overall satisfaction.

My Palisade

Bought for my wife. Had a computer issue in the beginning that went away. Then the recall happened and we were without the car for months. Got it back and the computer issue resurfaced. Its been 4 months of it in the shop. I most likely will not buy or lease another one due to it not being reliable.

Good SUV

I really like my Palisade. Overall it has been a great car. I especially like the warranty on it and unfortunately I have already had to use it for new struts and may need to use it for a few computer repairs. I think these super computerized cars just get glitches sometimes and they don’t seem to be serious but just annoying at times.

To many recalls

We like the technology that is included with the vehicle but we've worked our way through 3 issues already include two sets of shocks, a seatbelt recall and a recall on the 3rd row that hasn't been fixed yet. We asked Hyundai to buy the car back from us because of the 3rd row issue (we have kids that ride back there) and they said they weren't required to do that because the company was protected under Arizona's lemon law. The dealership told us they were under a "do-not-sell" order from Hyundai on the 20-26 models because of the backseat safety issues. So we're forced to drive this vehicle in the hopes something terrible doesn't happen to our kids.

Palisade XRT

Overall great vehicle make and model. Wish the sunroof was longer and there was a button to fold in side mirrors. Also Apple CarPlay needs to be wireless and offered in all models.

my review

comfortable ride. Tech needs more usable settings rather than what is default. i.e. cruise control should be radar or no radar; 'consider a coffee break' should be settable on or off and not repeated etc. I waited for 2 months for a rear shock repair which was very frustrated.
