Some Good, Some Bad
I love the roominess and the large cargo area. The ride is very comfortable, as are the seats. I love the extra features, such as heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and power seat adjustments for not only me, but my passenger. The acceleration is powerful and I hope Hyundai does not replace the V6 with a turbo V4.
The interior and exterior appearance of this car are pretty bland and unexciting, but I can live with that (at least it looks much better than the new 2026 Palisade!).
I have had some issues with this vehicle: The steering wheel is more difficult to turn to the left than to the right. Very weird. When accelerating quickly, the engine often feels like it might stall. Not horribly, but enough to concern me. The exterior power lock does not work more than half the time, so I end up having to dig my keys out of my bag and using the key fob. The voice recognition very often does not work: It tells me there is an issue and to try again later. Very annoying.
Some things that I wish were better on this vehicle: Like all cars, the seatbelt adjustment is designed for men. If you are a small woman, the seatbelt will rest on your neck, not your body, so if you get into a crash, good luck!
I wish there were more storage spaces in the front cabin.
This car is VERY noisy when driving on the highway.
I wish the heat worked better and faster. It takes at least 20 minutes for the front cabin to be warmed up.
The navigation system map is horrible. Even the dealer told me that he doesn't like it and that I will probably prefer to use the map on my iPhone. He was right!
The view in the rear-view mirror is very dark. I don't yet know if there is a function to change this.
The headlights provide a very low, very narrow beam of light. I wish it lit up more of the road.
My prior car was a Hyundai Tucson, which died in my driveway before it was even a year old. The emergency break stopped working after two years, and the paint was peeling off when it was four years old. I may regret my decision to lease another Hyundai if I start seeing reliability issues with my Palisade. I would say that if you can afford a Toyota, you are better off with one of their cars, instead of a Hyundai. There is a reason why Hyundai vehicles are so much cheaper. Quality costs money!
