overall great vehicle with far more features then its competitors for the the cost, feels like a solid more comfortable interior, drive the competitors then drive this then you'll understand.

The vehicle is mid performance is good, transmission is trash

The truck would be much better if it had a midgate. It needs a new transmission it lags , jerks and rattles especially when turn hard right around corners. The cabin is unusually dark it needs lights in the dash and under the dashboard. The resale value is awful , if I was in the market again I would not buy this again

Love the vehicle

My Santa Cruz has been a good vehicle for me. It's fun to drive it's fairly comfortable. The front grill could use some work as far as protecting the radiator more and the music system could have a little more base available since it is a Bose system. The interior and exterior style is well thought out.

Stylish and fun to drive

Bought this CPO truck instead of a Honda Ridgeline. Honda tech was 10 years old and uses a dated V6. Santa Cruz has very good tech, drives nicely and is quite on the highway. This is my second Hyundai and will probably be my last. I’m waiting for Honda , Toyota or Subaru to offer a compelling competitor to this truck. Hyundai simply isn’t quite there yet. Switch work seems cheap as do interior surfaces. They look god but don’t instill confidence for the long run. Same with the power train. Engine is perky but raspy. 10 yr pwr train warranty is why i felt Comfortable buying it. Nice truck but not for the long run.

A year in and done.

2023 Limited. I really wanted to love this vehicle. On paper; it’s perfect for me. However, I’ve already had the rear suspension replaced, rear mounts, sometimes the gas pedal does nothing and gives no check engine light, and the fuel economy is no even CLOSE to what was advertised. I’m actually looking to trade it in today… honestly I’ve never felt so unsafe in a vehicle. With the amount of people who have had transmissions replaced on the turbo models, mine was sold used and not certified, so I have to get out of this before I have to pay for a transmission.

Problematic

Transmission had to be replaced at 200 miles; thermostat at 5000. Hyundai Car Care set to expire this year but newer owners get free lifetime.

Great vehicle for the price! Only has a few cons

For the price the space it offers is great, styling is fantastic. Great safety features but lacks in power and other basic features such as automatic climate control and LED headlights (for a $30k+ care that is concerning). But other features such as wireless CarPlay and blind spot monitoring as standard are great. Overall great vehicle, looks and drives comfortably. Just 1 or 2 drawbacks is all

MPG and Changing channels.

I was getting between 25 and 30 MPG and then suddenly nine months ago. I’m now getting 19 mpg. When I contacted my local Hyundai service department, they said that my driving haven’t have changed. I’ve been driving the same for 50 years, but I’ve been informed that in the last nine months I’ve suddenly decided to change. When you wanna change your radio station up is usually up down as usually down. Not with this car/suv. If you wanna go up in frequencies, push down on the frequency knob. And if you wanna go down, push up. This even complex, the Hyundai service department. Have no idea what the engineers were thinking that day.

One of the best and most favorite vehicles that I've owned!

High marks across the board on the Santa Cruz! This is the first new vehicle that I've purchased in more than 20 years with the last new vehicle being the Hyundai Santa Fe which I also loved dearly. I purchased this just shortly before entering into retirement as the perfect crossover between a nicely appointed passenger car with the advantages of a small pickup. It has been wonderful having the flexibility of this vehicle along with the drive-ability and comfort of a well-appointed mid-tier vehicle.

Don’t Buy!!!!

It had an oil leak they couldn’t fix went to 3 different Hyundai dealerships before it was fixed. Then the transmission gave me issues at 18,000 and they had to replace the dual clutch pack etc.. Still shifts hard at times..
