It’s got some quirks and Hyundai won’t acknowledge them.

I’ve reviewed this about a year ago. Still have the same issues. In smart mode (default) the car stutters when in a cold start. Like the transmission is slipping. When you change drive modes to sport it goes away and if you just deal with it it will go away once the car gets up to temperature. Hyundai says they can’t make it do it but the online forums are full of people with the same issues. It anlso burns oil at 40k Other than that it’s a pretty solid car. Small back seat.

Comfortable and reliable

I enjoy driving my little "Truck" It has good pick up and is easy to handle. I do not like that I can't open the back window without crawling into the back seat. The auto door locks do not work well. Maybe 50% of the time.

View using the rear view mirror is poor. I realize you have cameras but you don't have a fish-eye lense on the rear camera. When backing up it is hard to see wider views that are left and right of the vehicle. I don't like the meters being used for cameras use a flat screen by the radio. Vehicle needs better mileage. It needs a smaller turning radius, my pilot has a smaller radius. We bought this used I believe it was certified not sure, we bought it from a Ford Dealer; it had ~3K miles.

Great Overall

Only issues i have are soft brakes and slight motor tick. Rides like Cadillac so smooth comfortable. Great on long trips back seat lil tight if you are taller person. But overall great vehicle.

30,000 Mile 2023 Santa Cruz Review

My wife and I have now had our Santa Cruze from new for 3 years/ 30,000 miles. It has been a great car based on overall reliability, function, and driving experience. It has many additional features compare to vehicles in the same price range making it a good value. The only issue we've had is the factory bed cover brought. Hyundai stood by there product and our fixing it under warranty, but it is a slight inconvenience. This also makes me question some other build quality items over the long term but so far we love the Sant Cruz and it has been great for our use.

2 Years later and still enjoying it!

My Santa Cruz has been excellent to own. I have used it to pull a camper, remodel the inside of my house by carrying sheets of subflooring and drywall. I have the A/C and Heated seats which have made it enjoyable in all weather conditions.
