2023 Santa Cruz

From a 2003 Jeep Wrangler to a 2023 Santa Cruz, what a difference. As someone who swore off modern technology, I love my Cruzer's features. I cannot travel our nation's interstate system without "lane following." This Santa Cruz makes my travels less stressful, which makes me a better man upon my arrival.

My Cruck: CarTruck

My wife bought the Santa Cruz she renamed it Cruck because it has a bed and its operates like a car. Issues: glove box is built to allow things to get caught behind the glove box. The all wheel lock is positioned to allow it to be activated by mistske. Windshield wipers are hard to get at( you have to lift the hood. Hard to clesn or clear Ice/snow to wedge. Fake spare tire. The all wheel drive models do not come with or offered a trunk bed cover. The front wheel model does have thst option. Gas mileage could be better. As you can read these issues are minor and picky.. The gas intake cover has frozen twice. Which was known by the dealership and I was advised to take before and after pictures and just pry it open. The wife loves her Cruck

This vehicle has been pretty much trouble free enjoy driving it. The back eat is a little cramped but I don’t have more than one passenger at a time.

Great vehiclem exceot for bed cover

Great power, good gas mileage. Had to finally pay dealer to remove bed cover, and threw it away. Piece of garbage. I understand there is a recall on it, but I couldnt wait for the fix. Buy one, but without bed cover.

Perfect Soccer Mom Car.

We use this compact truck to haul my childs medical equipment to and from everywhere, and we still have room to spare. We needed a vehicle with better storage, and I'm beyond happy I chose the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Its compact enough to back right up in a friends backyard to drop off 14 bags of soil from the hardware store, easily going through hospital parking lots or narrow streets, and large enough to haul needed medical equipment and more.

It’s got some quirks and Hyundai won’t acknowledge them.

I’ve reviewed this about a year ago. Still have the same issues. In smart mode (default) the car stutters when in a cold start. Like the transmission is slipping. When you change drive modes to sport it goes away and if you just deal with it it will go away once the car gets up to temperature. Hyundai says they can’t make it do it but the online forums are full of people with the same issues. It anlso burns oil at 40k Other than that it’s a pretty solid car. Small back seat.

Comfortable and reliable

I enjoy driving my little "Truck" It has good pick up and is easy to handle. I do not like that I can't open the back window without crawling into the back seat. The auto door locks do not work well. Maybe 50% of the time.
