Electrical issue renders vehicle extremely dangerous

I initially loved my Santa Cruz. I have owned a Hyundai before and never had a problem with it. My immediate family have owned at least ten Hyundais in the past 25 years. However, after owning this Santa Cruz for just over one year, I began experiencing a serious electrical problem. I’ve now taken it to two different dealership service departments for a total of NINE WEEKS of lost usage, and they are unable to fix it. Engine, transmission, radiator, everything works fine mechanically. It’s an electrical problem involving the CAN bus that techs cannot properly diagnose and repair that has resulted in my deep dissatisfaction with the vehicle. I bought a new vehicle for the reliability and warranty, especially since I live in a remote area with few resources. Now it seems I’ve been stuck with an extremely unreliable vehicle that can’t be diagnosed to even be repaired under the warranty. I wish I’d never bought it and I warn people against Hyundais now.

Nice comfortable vehicle

Excellent comfortable ride, great acceleration for its size. Lane departure sometimes suddenly pulls when lanes divide or curves backroads. Bed could be a foot longer. Overall excellent.

Love my Santa Cruz

I’ve had my Santa Cruz for a year and am very happy with it. Initially I thought it would be too small but It’s just My wife and I so we haven’t had any space issues. I do think the leg room in the back seat would be cramped for adults but we never carry passengers in back. Its only purpose for us is to haul groceries home. The bed is the smallest of any truck on the market but It has been perfect for my needs. I’ve even hauled 10ft long lumber with no problem. The ride is very comfortable and the mileage for the standard (non-turbo) engine is excellent. I get around 40 mpg on the highway.

Great Vehicle at a Great Price

I love my Santa Cruz. It rides like a luxury car, has plenty of room inside, and the utility bed is fabulous for my needs. I would give it a 5 star, but the infotainment screen doesn’t work all of the time.

Attractive exterior. Cheap interior. Poor mileage. Lousy acceleration

I enjoy the outward appearance but would not buy again without much improved mileage, better interior design, and actual ability to accelerate as required.

Great solid vehicle, Great value for the money.

I love this vehicle. It is very versatile and substantial. I have a car that will seat 4 adults and a child AND a small truck bed. I love it for groceries and shopping. The mileage is excellent! Very low maintenance. It fills all my needs. hat

Overall a great vehicle. Its wider inside than most cars. Has done amazing in the snow. Does need a radio volume knob . Have problems with the android auto.. 3 different phones. Same issue
