Beautiful design, comfortable ride, dependable performance

We leased this vehicle in 2023 to replace our first Santa Fe - same color - and we have been pleased for the most part with it's performance. We will probably end up purchasing this vehicle at the end of the least because we really do not like the newly designed 2024 Santa Fe. Either that or we will look at a different Hyundai like the Tucson or possible look at the Kia Sportage to lease. The one thing I would have like to have seen improved is the storage space above the glove box. We had a similar space on our Subaru and it was a bit deeper and higher so there was more room to place things like my ipad or iphone so my hands would be free to do other things. Recently or backup window has stopped working when we back up out of a parking space or a driveway. It also is not capturing a person right before they walk behind our vehicle so we cannot depend on the car to alert us to activity behind us and that is problematic after we have gotten used to having that feature. Also the shape of the back seats is a bit uncomfortable. When we are traveling at times I need to stretch out in the back seat because I have Restless Leg Syndrome and will often have severe leg spasms and cannot sit in the passenger seat. The two back seats on either side curve up on the interior side of the seats and the belt buckle will dig into my hips or waist when I try to lay on the seat. The back seat on the previous version was more straight and flush so I never felt like the seat shape went up and then down in the center and then back up. Otherwise, we really like the car.

What I like and dislike about my car

Like everything about my car except the following: 1 - I cannot access Apple Car Play wirelessly. It’s so disappointing! If I knew this I would’ve never bought the car. 2 - there is no spare. I already had an incident where my tire actually blew out. It was a significant inconvenience it having a spare, and finally 3 - I wish the car had an actual stick. Is there a way to download or install the capability to connect to Apple Car Play wirelessly even for a reasonable cost?

The only thing I dont like is I barley have 2 years with my car and with 40,000 miles and ac is already acting up we shouldn't be having those problems right now.
