Not quite sure, yet.

I'm 70 years old. I come from an era of people who tend to do for themselves, vs: those who depend on others. That being said, ever since I've been old enough to drive a vehicle, I mostly tend to perform my own maintenance, brakes, transmissions, wheel and tire changes and balancing, chassis adjustments, A/C work, engine work, and yes, even the mundane act of oil & filter changes. Over the years, and with improved synthetic oils being introduced, some "claiming" to "be good" for 10,000 miles, I've settled on using full synthetic oil, changed every 5,000 miles, including a new oil filter with each oil change. I tend to begin the oil service with the oil filter, as THAT will give me a better look into what may, or may not, be going on inside my engine and oil galleys that distribute the lifeblood to my engine. Well, I just recently performed my 25,000 mile service in regards to oil and filter service, filtering that oil filter oil through a common "conical paint strainer", and, to my dismay, noticed a collection of a "silver substance" left as residue in the paint filter. I proceed to "poke" the substance with a magnet, and determined that the material was not an iron, ("Fe" on the "Periodic Table of Elements) chart, and assume it is of non-metallic nature, possibly aluminum? At my 30,000 mile oil & filter service, I'll have the results analyzed, and we'll go from there in regards to any warranty claims. Being my age, I do not put any strain on any drive train, nor do I travel any distances at extended speeds or RPM's. This was the last vehicle my wife chose for us before her passing away this past February 28th 2025, and I'd really love to keep it in tip-top condition in her memory. We were together 51 1/2 years, and while I honestly don't expect ANY new vehicle to last as long as our marriage was, I'd still like to keep it "as new" as possible until my ultimate demise. Thank you for this survey, and allowing my input, even with the "emotional attachment" I've expressed. Yes, I confess, I was doing "Mechanical Engineering" things for 42 years of my life, hence the applical "attention to detail" I always seem to share into a conversation.

2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Review

This is my 2nd Santa Fe and 5th Hyundai vehicle I've owned over the last 20 years. I was so impressed with my 2019 Santa Fe that I purchased a 2023 in the same color. I've logged over 150K miles between both vehicles and have not had a single issue. The reliability of these vehicles is why I am a loyal customer will not consider buying any other brand.

Purchased new

Has been a decent vehicle so far. Has 54,475 miles as I type this and the only complaints are, the horn quit working around 40 some thousand miles and the gas door sticks, other than that, it’s been a good vehicle.

I’ve had my Santa Fe for 2 1/2 years. I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s classy looking, comfortable to be in and the features are great to have. I feel safe in my car.
