2025 Hyundai Santa Fe

There are a few things that I don't like, but as a whole, I love this car. I've had it for about 1.5 yrs and it already has 30,000 + miles. Lots of road trips. Its got a wide open space inside, I don't feel smooshed. It has plenty of cargo room. I keep the 3rd row down and that's usually enough for my 2 to 3 week road trips with my brother. I don't take it four wheeling or mudding but it has been off paved/graveled roads and it's done well so far... Good hwy gas mileage, averaged 28/29 on the last trip I took, a little less in the city. The combination of touch controls and buttons is good although I wish there were more actual buttons. The center console is a bit awkward for me. I don't sit with my seat back far enough to be able to rest my arm on anything except a corner, a very hard corner, plus awkward to open and reach in to as well. I don't use the charging pad, it charges too slow and I have to use a cord, so what I thought was a plus really isn't. Love that it has charger ports all over. The seats are comfy, even after 13 hrs of driving. I don't really care for the shifter style or location, maybe replace it with push buttons? I HATE the engine auto shut off. There is a lag between when I push the gas and when the car actually moves and that has put me in unsafe situations. It's a feature that most people turn off anyway, so get rid of it. Love the backup camera assist, but it would really be handy if a person could also view the front... I don't rely on the camera and always check surroundings when reversing, but can't see over the front of the car and a camera would be nice.

Hyundai did not honor its warranty.

My Hyundai experienced numerous intermittent electrical, electronic, and computer-related malfunctions, several of which posed serious safety concerns. Despite extensive written documentation and video evidence of these problems, Hyundai refused to address them under warranty because no diagnostic error codes were generated. Ultimately, I pursued binding arbitration through the BBB AUTO LINE program, which resulted in Hyundai being ordered to buy back my vehicle in July 2026. One particularly alarming incident occurred while driving on the interstate at 9 p.m., when another driver alerted us that our taillights were not working. We pulled over and discovered that the headlights were functioning, but the taillights were not, even though the lighting controls were set to AUTO. The dealership suggested user error, which was not the case. I sought assistance from two Hyundai dealerships. Both explained that Hyundai does not reimburse them for warranty work unless diagnostic error codes are present. None of my vehicle's numerous malfunctions generated such codes. (I doubt there is an error code for all four windows spontaneously rolling down when starting the vehicle!) One dealership acknowledged that the vehicle had "significant electrical issues" but warned that I would be responsible for the costly, time-consuming diagnostic process if no error codes were found. Another dealership actually charged me a $180 diagnostic fee because no codes appeared, despite the vehicle having fewer than 7,000 miles and being under full manufacturer warranty. This is not simply a dealership service issue. In my opinion, it is a manufacturer-level policy issue that effectively allows Hyundai to circumvent its warranty obligations and deserves serious scrutiny. A reimbursement structure that discourages dealers from investigating intermittent problems leaves customers without meaningful warranty protection, even when safety is at stake. I hesitate to recommend Hyundai, not because I believe its vehicles are inherently inferior, but because its dealer reimbursement policies appear to discourage the investigation and repair of legitimate warranty defects. Hyundai's widely advertised warranty was a major reason I purchased the vehicle, yet my experience demonstrated how difficult it can be to obtain the protection that warranty promises. If you are considering purchasing a new vehicle, I would strongly encourage you to explore other manufacturers. There are many alternatives across a wide range of prices, and a warranty is only as valuable as the manufacturer's willingness to honor it.

Some clunky features

There are some amazing features- remote start and the heads up display. Blue Link on my phone is amazing!! Driver's side area is clunky and you can't really get to the middle console when driving. The wireless chargers are inconsistent and charge very slowly when they do work

We waited and looked a long time before choosing our 2025 Santa Fe Caligraphy and we made the right choice. This SUV has everything we wanted in a vehicle and then some.

Note my review

I love the Santa Fe. I would however suggest that attention be given to the front seat seat belt connections. Both the driver and passenger sides spaces are too tight for fastening the seat belts. My wife and both find it difficult to fastening.

2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy

The vehicle has had either 3 or 4 recall items. Seems to be a lot compared to the 2021 Santa Fe we previously owned before buying this vehicle. My wife likes the technology included in the vehcle; however, the finger identification for individual drivers does not work. The interior features of the vehicle are very nice. The exterior look of the vehicle is nice but we've had the black trim around the wheel wells pull up around that drivers side rear wheel. It feels like some of the craftmanship and/or exterior finish details have been missed whihc is unfortunate.

Great car but hate the tires in rain and snow

This is one of my favorite vehicles. It is so comfortable to drive long distance and fits my entire adult family. I love all the features and the interior detail. However, I own the Calligraphy model and the tires are horrendous in rain or snow to the point that it is scary to drive.

2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy Fails to Excite

The front seat adjustability is good. The build quality is above average-nothing has broken or fallen off yet (30,000 miles). Performance is frightening, with unexpectedly slow acceleration, endless warnings and distractions. I believe Hyundai provided too many features and failed to ensure all features functioned as intended-esp in the firmware. If everything worked as intended, and importantly, if I could readily disable features I'm not interested in, that would help. These things combine to lower my impression of the vehice's value for the money. I believe a design that uses the vehicle's brakes for cruise control is a mistake as it will lead to early brake failure.

2025 Santa Fe

I was initially happy with my purchase until I realized that the quality is not what I expected. It comes standard with Goodyear tires that are advertised as having a 60,000 mile tread life. At 15,000 miles my tires were at 4/32 and had to be replaced at 18000 miles which is totally unacceptable. I even tried to use the warranty and was told by Goodyear that the warranty doesn't apply to tires that were on the car at purchase. I contacted the dealer and they would not work with me to replace the tires. My dash screen has moments where it freezes or will just be all black. The wireless phone charger doesn't work well; hitting bumps in the road makes it stop charging. The proximity sensor for the door locks doesn't always work. The standard sound system could be better. That being said, it does give a smooth ride, the seats are comfortable and the heat/ac works well. It gets good gas mileage for the size and its pretty :)
