Could be the best SUV for Camping with a few upgrades

I absolutely love driving my Hyundai Santa Fe. It’s a great vehicle for everyday use and outdoor adventures, with plenty of hatch space for camping gear and other recreational equipment. I use mine for a lot of camping, including sleeping inside the vehicle, so I pay close attention to how the interior space works. I’ve seen Santa Fe's featured in camping videos from Asia with features I’d love to see offered in the U.S. I think Hyundai has a real opportunity to make the Santa Fe even more accommodating for car camping, whether or not every owner plans to use it this way. I’d love to see Hyundai take some inspiration from vehicles like the Land Rover Defender when it comes to making the interior flexible for outdoor use. Overall, though, the Santa Fe is a wonderful vehicle. I enjoy driving it, and it has served me well on my camping adventures.

It’s average

Its ok could us more power when ur full of ppl and gear transmission doesnt seem to shift slow on hills and when engine is warm from a full stop transmission has trouble getting going

LOVE Our Santa Fe … but…

Love the brand and model as evidenced by this being our 2nd consecutive purchase of the same. However, despite being a turbo, this 4 cyl lacks the necessary power to support the vehicle’s size and weight. In addition, the avg gas mileage is poor.

seating is great, cargo is lacking

honestly the seating is top notch. I'm 5'3" and there's so much room in the third row I have comfortably ridden back there multiple times when the car is full. it's also great because my 11 year old is the same size as me and he also has no leg room issues either. however the cargo is severely lacking. honestly I'm just over having to choose between seating, cargo, or paying more than my mortgage for an suv that actually suits my needs. I'm starting to feel like I'm hunting for a fairy in the real world.

Enjoyment

This is our 5th Hyundai. We have really enjoyed all of them and look forward to are next one. They ride GREAT the my mileage has been better then advertised. I would say that a joyous between 2 or 3 row seating. Better entrance to the 3rd row. Thanks

Cannot recommend. Too many issues for a brand new vehicle.

I leased a new Santa Fe and have regretted it ever since. Starting just a few months after we got the vehicle, the rear hatch constantly alerted that it was open whenever the vehicle was parked outside — with full lights and alarms blaring. It wasn't. The alarm wouldn't go off until about 15 minutes later, so driving it home from a restaurant, for example, was stressful and embarrassing. It took about a month for the dealership to fix the issue, which they determined was a liftgate latch failure. The automatic liftgate, which is supposed to open when you get close to the vehicle, has never worked. The battery died after 8 months of having the car (seven if you include the month the vehicle was at the dealership for liftgate repairs), and the vehicle was in the shop on and off for more than three months trying to fix that issue. The dealership installed a new fuel injector, and the vehicle's acceleration has never been the same. If the lights are set to auto, the battery drains, and we have to charge it for the vehicle to start, again--still! The battery charges past 20%, so the dealership won't replace it altogether. The fingerprint driver identification hasn't worked for about six months, since the battery saga (which left me stranded over the Christmas holiday, mind you) — I just don't have the interest in taking the car to the dealership for repairs AGAIN to fix that minor inconvenience. It's just a lemon, and now we're stuck in this lease for 19 more months. Never will I purchase a Hyundai again.

I had a 2021 Santa Fe Limited. Now I have the 2025 Santa Fe Caligraphy & 2026 hyundai Tuson Limited. Prior to these vehicles I had a Lexus RX 350, a Merced ML350 and the hyundai has the same features and can use regular gas.
