Early impressions are positive

I'm coming up on three months of ownership with my new Hyundai Tucson. So far I'm impressed with its ride and comfort. I would have thought the fuel economy would be a little better with the hybrid engine. The Elantra that I formerly owned got over 40 mpg on the highway. My Tucson gets in the mid-30s on the highway.

Nice features, roomy and good performance

We've had the car for about 2 months. It is loaded with features, both safety and convenience, so still doing some configurations. With the hybrid powertrain, response is surprisiningly good. However, there is one feature that needs to be modified. Like many owners, I have a bike rack mounted on the back. With the Limited trim, the rear parking sensors engage automatic braking. I can be bypassed manually every time we reverse, but there should be an option to disable the automatic braking permanently.

The best car I have had in over 40 years

I love love it. Roomy and higher above the street the tires seem wider? I do very little highway driving so it’s amazing with gas I fill up once every 2 months.

A Warranty is Worthless if You Can’t Get an Appointment

My car is undriveable because the gauge display goes black while I’m driving. The dealership “fixed” it once after I was given the runaround, but the problem came back and now they say I can’t get an appointment to fix it for weeks or months.

Nice Vehicle

We love our new 2025 Tucson Limited Hev but we did have a problem with the instrument gauge cluster and HUD display going blank after only driving it for 200 miles. Lakewood Hyundai acknowledged that it was a warranty problem and offered us a loaner vehicle while the vehicle was being repaired. They replaced a problematic coax cable with a new tighter fitting cable. The Tucson is loaded with so many features and new technology that we love. One feature we wished it had, that our 2023 Honda Accord Touring had, is the ‘walk away’ automatic door lock feature. I find it annoying having to remember to stop and either use the key FOB or touch the door handle to lock the vehicle before proceeding. I love the ambient lighting in the Tucson, the Bose audio system is awesome, the little detail that shows on the dashboard what function the wipers are on when you move the lever is something I would not expect to see except on a very high level and expensive vehicle. The driver memory function that includes the driver seat position as well as the outside side view mirrors is a nice feature. I think the tray on the dashboard on the passenger side doesn’t not enhance the look or function of the dash. I would much prefer seeing a storage door compartment similar to the Santa Fe or have the tray replaced with a normal looking dashboard like how Kia treated this area on the Tucson’s sister vehicle Sportage. I think the tray section on the dashboard cheapens the look of the vehicle. I also do not think it’s wise to have loose items laid on the tray in case of an accident that could throw those items around the passenger compartment causing injury. Just my opinion.

Great Fuel Economy and Easy to Drive

This is one of the easiest cars to drive. Comfortable seating, good navigation, few blind spots, good acceleration, good steering and convenient controls. The cargo space is excellent as well (car dimensions). The couple of drawbacks, which seem very correctable, are: 1) No spare tire of any kind (this has been a problem already), 2) The turn radius could be better - it's surprisingly difficult to turn into a tight parking spot, and 3) Cup holders in the back seat that are too small to hold refillable water bottles (My daughters caught this oversight on Day 1). Overall, though, just a pleasure to drive everyday.
