We bought our 2011 to act as our primary car. We love the fuel economy and the versatility of our Outback. We will buy another -- but not for a LONG time!

I love my Subaru

This has been such a good all around dependable car. Lots of cargo room. It goes anywhere with the all wheel drive and has been very safe. It has always run perfect with no problems.

Reliable vehicle.

Reliable vehicle that runs well. Typical maintenance expenses except for timing belt. This is true if all makes if 4 cylinder vehicles. They should find a way to make the timing belt last longer or design it so it can be replaced cheaper. Also, these engines have a tendency to need head gaskets. Head gaskets should last the life of the car. The headlights are not adjustable and I cannot see well with the low beams. Headlights are also very hard to change. I have a 2011 outback

Subaru owner for life

I just had my first issue with it... at 116k miles. Wheel bearing. Probably because I treat it like an all wheel drive vehicle was built to be treated. If something catastrophic happened to mine, I’d buy another one just like it

Would not buy another one!

Comfortable ride but no power in the 4-cylinder!! Differential problems that are so expensive to fix because of the way it’s built into the AWD feature so it means the car is worthless for resale or trade-in because you apparently need a whole new transmission if the differential goes bad!! Honda is the only way to go!!

Outback 2011

I love my Outback. The one thing I do not like is it is hard to see out the back to backup, etc. Had the backup camera been available without the need of also getting a sunroof, when I bought it, I would have put it in. I understand that it is standard now.

awesome vehicle

I love my 2011 Outback. I have been up and down the East Coast with this car! I love the comfort on long drives. I will purchase another Subaru when the time comes. My only issue is that when my dogs are in the far back it is too hot for them as there aren't any air vents that reach back there. I will be watching the newer models (mine is 2011) when the time comes to buy again.

Snow handling

A great vehicle but if you plan to drive it in snow, get snow tires. Don’t depend on all weather tires, even if the tires get a decent snow rating. Found this out the hard way in recent Seattle snow. My prior Legacy wagon handled better with dedicated snow tires under similar conditions.

Love it

Got exactly the same car when a deer killed the one I had had for two years, because it had a sound feeling to it and never gave me a moment of trouble. In my initial research, 2011 Outback owners had rated it highly for reliability, which is what this 75 year old single, living only on SS needs.

Built Like a Tank

I love my 2011 Subaru Outback. It handles well and has power to spare. It is also built like a tank which in the ever-threatening environs of Denver. Given that Denver drivers can be broken down into two broad categories, passive-aggressive and hair-on-fire, this is very important.

Good basic car

I like Subarus because they are safe, generally don’t need a lot of maintenance and they aren’t fancy. They handle well. I love the tight turning radius. I can get a lot of stuff in the car. The HVAC system is problematic. In the winter I basically have to run the defrost all the time. The sun roof leaks into the car, if you don’t have the drains flushed. Which I always forget to do til it leaks every winter. The seats aren’t the most comfortable. I have to put pillows on the seat and the back rest to be comfortable.
