I went to work that night, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., got home and took a nap, then called them by 11 a.m. and let them know that the engine light was on after my maintenance. They told me to go ahead and bring it in and they would get it checked out.
When I dropped it off, they knew I work nights. I even told them that for the rest of. the week I have three sixteen-hour shifts. That is three days of doubles coming up.
Around five o'clock or so I realized they still hadn't called me and I was getting worried, so I started calling them because their website said they close at seven. We kept going to voicemail. So I called sales and asked a lady to please get someone from services to talk to me, because I need my car. They told me that it would be done today.
She said they’re closing very soon, and I don't know what to tell you about your car. She was going to transfer the call and I stated I've already called. Even from a friend's phone with her on the line. This lady from sales could have walked five feet over to services to give someone the phone to let them know that I needed to know about my car, and I'm very mad that I did not get her name.
I called back twenty minutes later and a guy answered in sales. He said, “Oh no, they just closed. I'll go check the folder and see if your keys were left.” There were no keys.
Not only did I have to call out of work because my car has been kept by them, who is possibly the reason why my car had to go back in, but I also lost out on eight hours of my regular shift and eight hours of my overtime in the morning.
I am not a person who likes to miss work. For Uber I have to go between two sites. It would have cost me over one hundred and sixty dollars.
I am so upset that I couldn't even be mad when he said that he couldn't find my keys and they weren't done. I was in complete shock. I don't understand how someone can disrespect a human on this level, knowing that they had a sixteen-hour shift to go to tonight.
The fact that they didn't even call me to let me know that they weren't going to get to my car and offer me some sort of rental, or information on what happened to my car.
I am a very understanding and patient person. But they just disrespected my income and my reputation at work. How can you trust someone who promised you they would update you?
