It's a fun techie car that is a great value

The tech features and quality of the car are pretty good and particularly good for the price vs competitors. The ride is quiet and smooth and you can see quality and attention to detail in most of the build. I think the software generally works pretty well, but it can be quirky. Being so dependent on screens and software I am interested to see how the software and equipment hold up over time. I use Apple CarPlay exclusively so I don't really look at the Genesis software related to their iOS app or in the car itself. The app is fine, but nothing special outside of the digital key which is great to have. The software in the vehicle not related to navigation/music seems to work fine. I particularly like the driving safety features and it's been really nice with lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and those types of Highway Driving Assist features. We've owned it for about a year now and haven't had any issues. My only other note is to confirm where the Genesis dealership is and if it is a dedicated service center or if it's shared with Hyundai or other brands. Having owned cars from different brands in the past if you go to the dealership for servicing it's often nicer to have a more dedicated premium dealer. Experience is usually smoother, location more convenient.

Great Car

The GV80 is an excellent vehicle. It is very comfortable and has a relatively easy user interface. The mileage obtained is actually better than the sticker ratings. Had some problems initially, but they were repaired by the local dealer. The local dealer has been great to work with.

Defective electronics

Screen had gone black and had to be replaced. Intermittent connectivity of iPhone even when plugged in. Apple cer play does not work.

Love the car but the key fob is very poorly designed. The buttons are too small. Further when I approach tglhe car it takes too long to unlock automatically.

MY GV 80

My Genesis GV80 really stands out for that “quiet luxury” feel. Genesis tuned it more toward comfort and refinement than sporty stiffness, so the soft suspension, low cabin noise, and supportive seats make highway trips especially relaxing.

Not worth the money

This car is full of quirks. The radio will not come on, the screen won't come on, the wind noise is bad, there is already a squeak in the back and can't be found. No spare and to have one built was over $1,200. For the price of the car, these things should not be happening!

Outstanding vehicle

We have owned this vehicle for over a year and it has met all our expectations. We formerly were Lexus owners but made the switch in part to the wide array of features on the GV80, but primarily due to the unlimited 100k service. We have not paid a cent for oil changes, tire rotations, or paint protection. This vehicle is more comfortable than our previous Lexus and has been a pleasure to drive.

Comfortable and good acceleration. Good gas mileage and sufficient size gas tank for good range. Too little storage in front seating area, Settings and controls are not intuitive. Why aren't driver profile settings connected to specific keys as a default so that only need to change settings if you choose, rather than always having to choose a profile? Settings aren't maintained as well as in several other cars we have owned.

OUTSTANDING

The GV80 is a beautiful vehicle inside and out. Except for maybe the front grill (I think it's too big). Personal profiles at engine start-up is a plus, but you'd think it would know who's in the vehicle if using the digital key. My wife's profile always comes up first. Can't get the Valet mode to turn off after multiple tries. Smooth ride & generous power. I probably haven't used half the available technology options. The Genesis app should be free for the entirety of owning the vehicle. I've paid enough for this vehicle already w/out nickle-and-diming me. Genesis service is top not from the sales staff to the service center.

I love my GV80, but I hate seeing my dash in Kia and Hyundai vehicles

Every time I see a review of a Kia or Hyundai, so much of the interior looks exactly like my Genesis. Reminds me of GM during their horrible platform sharing period where Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles looked 80% alike. Quite honestly, I'm a little tired of friends with Kias riding in my car and saying "my car has that!" and "just like my car!" Why the hell did I spend Genesis money to get the same features as a Kia??? I'd rate "Value For The Money" a 10, were it not for this.

Amazing vehicle, they thought of everything

Amazing vehicle. Comfortable ride and great combination of fuel economy without forsaking power when you need. The technology in this vehicle is incredible. Everything seems to have been thought of, at times it’s almost overwhelming.

Most Comfortable Drive

The vehicle’s drive is amazing. It is more like sailing than driving. It is comfortable and easy to drive. That said, the heavy tech dashboard is overwhelming at times and sometimes is confusing.
