Okay Vehicle, Disappointing Genesis Ownership Experience
I purchased a 2026 Genesis GV80 expecting both a luxury vehicle and a luxury ownership experience. Unfortunately, the service experience has been extremely disappointing. With less than 10,000 miles on the vehicle, my check engine light came on and the Genesis app reported diagnostic code P045600. I have been trying to get the vehicle inspected, but the dealership has repeatedly had no loaner vehicles available. As a result, I have continued driving a nearly new vehicle with a check engine light on while waiting for transportation to become available.
Genesis Customer Care mentioned rental reimbursement as an alternative, but having to coordinate and potentially pay for a rental and seek reimbursement is not the experience I expected after purchasing a vehicle in this price range.
I actually like the GV80, which makes this more frustrating. My poor rating is primarily based on the ownership and service experience. A luxury brand should have a reliable solution for customers who need warranty service, particularly when a warning light is involved. Genesis needs to improve dealer loaner availability and the overall service process to match the quality and price of its vehicles.
