Love my Elantra Hybrid

With gas over $4.00 a gallon I am very happy I own the Elantra Hybrid. I get 50 mpg when I drive on the interstate or long stretches of highway. My gas mileage drops to about 40-45 mpg if i am driving mainly on city streets. I have not had one issue with this car since I bought it 18 months ago.

Outstanding Value

This is my 3rd Hyundai and my second Elantra. All three Hyundais have been great value for the money. The car is reliable. The gas mileage is fantastic. I make frequent drives of 1000 miles and the comfort and ease along with the gas mileage make long-distance driving a pleasure. I didn't think Hyundai could top my 2012 Elantra Limited, but my 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid is even better. Low cost required maintenance and in two years I have had no issues whatsoever.

Intermittent Rattle Issue is a Nuisance

There’s something that rattles under my dashboard occasionally. It sometimes seems to typically happen during cold weather but happens year round intermittently. The Hyundai dealerships/service shops have not fixed it since they have not noticed it themselves the few times they’ve driven it.

Every day I discover new safety features in my car, and I'm delighted to no end. Radar and a backup camera are game-changers. Plus, I'm spending about half as much on gas as I was with my regular car that died.....

Car performs well, but has many smaller issues

This car performs fairly well and gets pretty good mileage, but has many annoying issues that detract. Like: the car has no spare tire. It has a tire refill can, but you can only use it once and it costs $80 to get a replacement. Thankfully I bought the full tire warranty, so every time that I blow out a tire (they have the smaller racy tires), I call Hyundai to come tow the car in & get the tire replaced. Next, there is apparently no way to turn off the annoying automatic switch to air intake based on seemingly random notions, which are not limited to how long you have the intake off, whether you have the roof open, etc. You can turn it back to no-intake, but it switches back automatically. Very Annoying! Next, my salesman promised me that we would get a heated steering wheel, but we bought it during the summer, and I never checked until months later - not only is there no heated steering wheel, but also Hyundai simply does not make one for the Elantra. I'll stop there, though there are probably more annoying things.
