Amazing fuel efficiency, fun drive
When your biggest complaint with a car is the cupholders, that's a good sign.
My wife and I bought a 2013 Elantra used from a fleet, and absolutely loved the car. For a number of reasons, we decided that we needed to get a second vehicle, and after looking at a lot of options, decided to put off the choice of a new vehicle in favor of "upgrading" one we already had. We got a 2025 Elantra Hybrid Blue at a dealership near us for around $25k, and we're about 3k miles in so far. Compared to the 2013 model, the car is significantly upgraded, both in sensor packages, climate control, and just general QoL features. The biggest win, however, has been the car's fuel efficiency. We've actually been able to actually realize about a 54 mpg average with the car so far, in actual driving conditions including cold weather and mountain driving. This hasn't really come at a detriment either, as at times when we've needed power, foot-to-floor will make this thing MOVE.
My biggest complaints are in a way telling of the vehicle's qualities. The car is so quiet that noise from the window gap is audible and sometimes distracting. The front cupholders are awkwardly sized in terms of height, and I've had to dig out smaller drinks while being unable to fit others in. The rear cupholders in the back seats are missing entirely on this model, as is the option to partially fold down the seats. Again, these are odd little things to complain about, but it's all I really can. Car is great, love it.
