Good commute car

My Hyundai Elentra is a good car for everyday commute. Mechanics feel smooth, fuel economic is excellent. Electronics are a little below my expectation: screen display would go dark in broad day light; the auto head light control does not respond well to the lighting condition, sometimes it turns on under bright sunlight and sometimes didn't turn on when it was already quite dark. A tire pressure warning light kept turning on for two weeks when I check my tire pressure repeatedly and was sure that there is no problem, and then the warning light went away on its own mysteriously.

It’s good, but basic things missing

Car is really good and driving is really enjoyable. Adaptive cruise is a big big miss and safety features are not that great. Also space is really crumbed for keeping water bottles on the door side and space is almost no use.

The Elantra HEV has potential to be an amazing car, but it falls short

This car gets fantastic gas mileage and has a lot of really enticing features, however, the performance and engine capability, which is consistently and continually plagued with problems, makes this car an exemption to any vehicle you would want your family or children driving. I purchased my car at the beginning of January 2026 brand new, and we are almost to June 2026, and it has been in the shop for nearly 5 months. No one has been able to fix any of the issues, and I keep getting promises that are never getting fulfilled. There is always a time delay, or an excuse, or some other reason why I'm continually driving rental cars, when my brand new car is still in the shop. I have been in contact with the store manager, the service manager, and even a Hyundai representative. No one has any answers, And I am still without my car and in a rental. Absolutely unacceptable.

Great car, great warranty, great gas mileage.

Here in the tropics I appreciate the air conditioned seats. The sonically assisted cruise control allows me to relax during crowded commutes. Automated warnings about speed cameras provide gentle reminders. The gas mileage is especially significant given gas prices now.
