Ho-Hum Experience with our Elantra

While there are things we really like about our Elantra, the negative things we have discovered through our time owning it would sway us toward a different vehicle in the future. Very tinny with a lot of audible road noise, the window ledge is higher than expected and makes trying to rest your left arm on the door while driving impossible (or at least uncomfortable), minimal storage in front and what is there is tight and leaves my wife's things disorganized (there's not even a sunglass holder), the passenger window will go down automatically after depressing the button but it does not do the same going up, the transmission is "jolty" when switching to reverse or stopping/slowing and then accelerating again. We have owned two previous versions of the Ford Fusion Hybrid and much preferred them over this car. While we have faith in Hyundai, and hoped for a better experience, the looks of the car drew us in but the comfort and driving experience have been inferior.

2025 Elantra Limited Hybrid

I really wanted to love this car, but I don't. My 2021 was better despite all the hybrid system problems. On top of it being premium and priced accordingly, it looks exactly the same as all the other trims of the Elantra.

My Hyundai Elantra Bluebird 2025 Review

My only complaint is that the vehicle sticker when I entered the lease showed gas mileage to be 54-58 MPG. I've only got above 54 once or twice in 19 months of driving. It's usually just over 50mpg in mild weather and drops significantly in colder weather to around 45mpg or less. So this has been frustrating and a bit disappointing, but otherwise I do love the car.

One of the nicest cars I've driven

This car is great. It handles well, has a smooth ride, and goes from quiet with the gas engine on to whisper mode in EV mode. The acceleration is phenomenal. The driver's seat and amenities are comfortable. What's missing that my old Accent had? A sunglasses holder (in my case reading glasses), so they have to rattle around the console. The only reason it's a 9 on fun to drive is that I love to drive a stick, but the automatic is Great in traffic .

good fuel economy car

It's a good fuel economy car. Only issue is wind sound when driving on freeway. Otherwise, it's spacious from inside and compact from outside, good for daily commute and parking. It has feature to stay in lane which is really helpful. Overall good purchase.

Elantra hybrid

Vehicle needs bigger break pads. Some components on the vehicle like the door handles are very weak and seem easily breakable. The transmission also feels a bit funny. However the vehicle has a lot of cool electronic features and the vehicles rides very smooth.

Great car… good value

The Hyundai ELANTRA is a great car. It has all the features you’d want, including cruise control, lane assist, collision & blind spot warning system, premium stereo, power steering and brakes, very roomy, and comfortable, high gas mileage, mpg is 40 miles per gallon city and highway. Very fast.

Just what I wanted and needed

The drive: wonderful! Perky enough to get through turns in a fun manner. Sporty enough of acceleration to switch lanes, merge, or get off the line. Very smooth ride. I upgraded to grand touring tires at 40k miles and it got even better. Fuel efficiency: Amazing! Only when having consistent climbs does it drop to mid 40s. Interstate speeds drops it to 47 or 48. Basic diving, I average around 52 Space: I'm 6 foot. I feel very comfy in the cockpit. Great lumbar support. I love the feel of My space. Just enough. Passengers front and back have commented on their comfort being high. Trunk space has been crammed to the brim 3 xl duffel and a massage table with various other small bags. I don't understand why the hood doesn't line up perfectly. But it doesn't hinder speed or airflow. I wish the driver's side was not in gray but in black.
