Amazing EV with virtually every feature I want
I traded in my Tesla vehicle in March 2025 to lease an Ioniq 5 Limited AWD, and I have not regretted the decision at all. For my driving needs, it is comfortable, versatile, efficient, and fun to drive, and it was very comfortable on a long-distance drive from Washington to California and back. The Limited provides a crisp heads-up display, driving assistance features, an excellent sound system, and a glass roof with a motorized cover. As a small SUV, it has a lot of cargo room - I have been able to put a lot of things in it, including a small arcade video game cabinet. The UI is pretty easy to use, and the instrument cluster gives me all the essential information I need without being distracting (something I was worried about on the 2024 model). The NACS port gives the car instant compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, which were still the best charges I could access along my road trip, while the included CCS adapters make it work with ChargePoint and Electrify America chargers as well. The standard rear wiper on the '25 model is a very welcome addition as well.
The Ioniq is by far the most comfortable vehicle I've driven. It feels very solid, no rattles or squeaks, and I feel safe in it and don't feel that I have to second-guess the computers all the time like I did in my Tesla. There are a couple of rough edges in the software, including some quirks in the Android Auto implementation, voice-to-text dictation lagging behind competitors, and a few functions in the EV section of the UI being a little hard to access. But these are minor issues that don't reduce my enjoyment of the overall driving experience. I highly recommend this vehicle.
