Love The Design & Performance; Disappointed With Catastrophic Failures

I love everything about the IONIQ 6 when it's working. Unfortunately my first IONIQ 6 was declared a lemon and bought back after just 1,300 miles. Despite that, I leased another identical IONIQ 6, and that one just had the ICCU fail after 1,700 miles. I know and understand that new, innovative products can have some early-stage issues, but having two vehicles fail with less than 3,000 miles is hard to understand.

Pretty good car

Overall it is a good car. Although we have had some issues and the dealership tends to have a very difficult fixing it properly the first time. Send like the dealerships need to be trained better or issues with the car can be fixed efficiently.

Although small and frame this car has plenty of room on the inside for both driver and back seat passengers. It is comfortable easy to drive and best of all it's a head turner with its dual spoilers and unique look.

Great car but had some issues

Great car fun to drive and handles great. The issue I'm having is the paint on the door handles is chipping off, took it in and they said covered by warranty but never called me to set up service. Not sure why they just didn't order new handle covers instead of saying they would paint it. The no call back happened twice, same dealership. Also lots of software recalls for battery fuse problems, don't think they have figured out how to fix it yet. Mine had not had an issue with that but it is always a chance.

Sporty but practical

The Ioniq 6 is a blast to drive with quick accelleration and great handling. It drives like the sports car I thought I couldn't have with my family of four. However, the roomy front seats and huge rear seat area make it an extremely comfortable family car. The convenience of charging at home, not to mention the savings, makes it an affordable and fun daily driver.

So far so good

Comfortable, roomy, nice features. While premature to truly evaluate (1600 miles) only concerns or surprises are the extreme loss of battery when cold (50%) and rearview mirror accommodates a shorter driver. I'm only 6'2"but I have to shift seat to meet the mirror rather than vice versa

It has been a great experience, I will never go back to gasoline cars

I love the car. Driving is so smooth, charging on roadtrips is very quick. The only annoying issue was the two SW updates for the 12V battery, as well as the TPMS. But I guess this is expected with new cars. The service at dealerships can be improved, they still lack sufficient knowledge about electric cars. Another point for improvement is the route planning. Please do it like Tesla - I want to see arriving and target departure SOC when charging stations at recommended for a roadtrip. Selecting charging stations can also be made more easy.

Love it!

Definitely an easy EV to settle in to. The auto cruise and lane keep/lane change is much better than the Model Y we had. Haven’t experienced phantom braking and it handles stop and go traffic like a champ. Lots of creature comforts, plenty of space for stuff, and charges fast. I do wish Apple CarPlay was wireless- also the nav screen is a little busy, but I’m overall very happy with it.

My 1st year with the IONIQ6

During my year with the new IONIQ 6, I have completely enjoyed the car. The drive modes completely change the dynamics of the vehicle, and I have only come close to being beyond a charge 1 time and that is because Bergstrom Auto Group in Appleton WI stopped allowing the public to stop using their chargers.

Quiet, reliable vehicle so far

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is a quiet, comfortable car that has a very good driving range, 300 + miles, when driven reasonably. So far, the car has been very reliable. It has had two safety recalls that only involved a software update through a certified dealership. It would have been nice if the software updates could have been pushed through the OTA (over the air) feature. The most impactive issue with the car is that it does not come with a spare tire of any kind, not even a space-saver spare. The emergency tire inflation kit only works if the puncture is small. If the tire has a blowout, you're sitting on the side of the road for quite some time if the blowout occurs in a rural area!

The window buttons and door locks need to bet placed on the doors. The back seats should be heated. I know the heads up in the 25. Should have been on the 24s. I have the ionic 6 limited. The dealers are giving free service for the Ev cars. Should be more than just rotating tires. I love my car. Very difficult to determine how many miles are available. The mile count changes repeatedly. Hard to determine miles unlike the hybrid Sonata limited which I had traded in for my 6.

Electronic Glitches are ruining this car.

I have been driving my Ionic 6 for over a year now and since day 1 I have had problems with the front sensor array alarming for no reason. I have had it back to the dealer at least 4 times for the issue and am constantly being told that they "cannot recreate the problem" during their test drives, but it happens every day when I am commuting to work. I have taken (and provided) videos of my repeatedly being stopped in traffic with nothing moving around me when the sensors will falsely alert (red, yellow, green, driver's side, passenger's side, middle - all at different moments). I have repeatedly dinged my reviews and questionaires from Hyundai about this only to never hear anything back. This is incredibly disappointing from a car company who supposedly has very high ratings from JD Power, etc.

Fun and Fast but not reliable

The car drives very well, is fast and has lots of safety features, most of which work as they are supposed to. The car has had 4 recalls and the charging unit has failed, it feels like it is in the shop more than it is in my driveway, which keeps me from giving a full throated endorsement.

Loved until it broke down and I was told 4 months to get the part

Rides really nice, good power, great safety features. Looks good. Everything was going great until 2 months in when it broke down and I was told it would take 4 or more months to get the part (integrated control unit).

Solid EV for anyone

Solid car, reliable, and hits most of the needed spots for a car in its class. I think the trim levels could be adjusted to reach peak trims and luxury to price ratios. I would like to see more customization from these stylish cars and possibly more features.
