Great EV for city

The design and comfort of the IONIQ 6 are great! The locations of the window switch, automatic gear, and dashboard are very convenient. The interior design and placement of the two-tier center console are also very convenient. Being two-tier allows the driver to use plenty of space.

The battery performance is disappointing. After one year and 6,400 miles it only charges to 90% of when I purchased it. Also doesn’t connect to Apple CarPlay

2025 Ioniq 6 - best and worst

Best car I've ever had. Excellent range for an EV. Fun to drive. Roomy and I'm 6'3". Very smooth. Handles well. Fast off the line and changing lanes on the freeway. Charges quickly. Low maintenance. Good service program for the lease. Room for improvement - No rear windshield wiper. With all the morning condensation in So Cal, this makes no sense. Not good for rain either. Folding seats - seat belt always gets caught in them. Better design needed. Lots of room for improvement on front panel. Voice recognition and navigation don't work very well. Ease of use isn't great. Location of charge port is inconevnient for most chargers - better up front.

Great car, but difficulty with media system

Car has been reliable, great performance and comfortable. Negatives: My phone will not connect to media system without being cabled. Sometimes I cannot get out of "park" to "drive". Media system not easy to use.

Stylish elegance & practicality with room for improvement

I've had the Ioniq 6 for a little over a year and driven it for twenty thousand miles. I've had to change the tires, the windshield wipers, cabin filter and nothing else. I really like the styling and so do many people that see it on the street especially when it has just been washed. As a daily driver, the car is very reliable. The trunk is on the shallow side, for daily travel & errands it works. The hvac system works well & is efficient. Living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area makes for long commutes and the Ioniq 6 has the range to tackle it all. Now, the delta: I wish it had At least dedicated space for the spare tire. I would rather have THAT than ambient lighting. Getting an unrepairable flat on the wrong side of town at night & having to wait until Lord knows when for road-side assistance is dicey. I wish it was a sportback/liftback/hatchback to make it easier to load bigger items in and out. I would rather have THAT than electronic lift trunk. More noise insulation is EASY to do aftermarket with all the DIY YouTube videos now, if production costs are an issue. I wish I could sit a little higher, sorry after driving a 2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport SE with tech REALLY spoiled me. Also, all this "save the planet by only using recycled plastic" is good and dandy, BUT even the $38K Sonata Limited Hybrid has leather seats available. It's a shame that the Ioniq 6 has been discontinued for the USA. I hope you reintroduce here, but where it looks more like the Prophecy than "some mid-sized electric Korean import sedan". Chevy sold more Corvettes (24,533 units at $94K) than Hyundai Ioniq 6 (10,478 units at $37K)! What they do have in common is that neither have a spare or space for one.

The Best Car I Have Ever Owned

The IONIQ 6 is an exceptional car and the best vehicle I have ever owned. The design is elegant, distinctive, and genuinely looks like a concept car, while the interior is quiet, comfortable, and far roomier than the exterior suggests. Rear-seat passengers have been surprised by the amount of legroom, even with the front seats pushed back. The AWD powertrain is smooth, remarkably quick, and effortless on the highway, yet the car remains calm and composed. The ride is comfortable, the technology is thoughtfully integrated, and features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, regenerative braking, navigation-based battery preconditioning, and over-the-air updates make it feel truly modern. It is also incredibly inexpensive to operate. With home Level 2 charging and time-based electricity pricing, I can often add a substantial amount of range for less than one dollar. The combination of performance, efficiency, comfort, practicality, and distinctive design is difficult to match. Most importantly, I still look forward to driving it every time I get behind the wheel. Hyundai created something genuinely special with the IONIQ 6, and I hope the company continues offering and developing it in the United States.

Sporty and fun electric vehicle.

This is one of those cars that you either love at first sight or you don't. In my case it was the former. I was at a conference 180 miles from my home and saw the obsidian black, 2025 Ioniq 6 at a dealership. It was perfect. I commute 20-25 miles a day to and from my workplace so I was looking for an EV. The I6 met every expectation. Fun to drive, lots of tech, it is fast when you need it to be. I don't usually gush, but this is a great car. Disappointing the new models are not coming to the US.

Everything electric is great. Everything Hyundai sucks

Air conditioner has broken three times this summer when the car is about 20 months old. Lots of recalls. The navigation system is negatively helpful as the only times I've used it instead of my phone it has taken me to the wrong place every single time. Beeps way too much when you're waiting at a light and an appropriate distance from car in front of you. Sensors are bad since it randomly beeps for no reason when maybe a fly went past or something. It is an EV so it's super smooth with so much power.

Love many things, many annoyances keep it from being perfect

I love efficiency, and this car is one of the best for that. I choose this car over the Tesla Model 3 due to these factors: normal system for controls (hated turn signals as buttons on the 3), user adjustable regen (in the city, one pedal driving is great; on the highway, coasting is a must), and the final reason is that Elon Musk doesnt run Hyundai.
