Sonata lease review

This is our 6th Hyundai lease and our 5th Sonata. Our 6th Hyundai was a Tucson which we wouldn't recommend due to extremely loud cabin noise and the sound system was awful at best. Regarding the Sonata Sport, the styling is excellent inside and out. Controls and seat comfort is very good. Cabin noise is much improved over previous years. Engine performance is adequate. Bluelink is improved over previous years.

Average Car

Overall it’s a smooth ride. However this car is so slow. The engine sucks. I’ve had to get my horn fixed twice now. Would not buy a Hyundai again. There are so many better cars out there.

Great styling and performance

I reviewed multiple mid size cars before deciding on the Sonata and found the styling and performance to be to my liking. I've owned 3 Hyundai's and have been very happen with all. So far, I really like the handling and ride of the Sonata. I'm sure it won't be my last Hyundai !

The 2026 Red Sonata

Very disappointed in how the salesman rushed us out with minimum instructions on how to operate all the new things on the dashboard. We still can't do most of it. We are in our 70s and have trouble keeping up with the changes. Also the gas mileage per gal is much lower than our previous Sonata. We are pleased with the exterior and the light colored interior.

My 2026 Sonata

I like the car overall, I traded the car from a Santa Cruz without a trunk to the Sonata to having a trunk. This was the main reason for my trade of the Santa Cruz to the Sonata. I have been having an issue with the transmission, I think. I've noticed that the transmission from park to reverse or forward if I move the switch to change gears it hits the transmission kind of hard. I've been able to resolve the issue for the most part by shifting forward very carefully ( slowly ) and then putting the car in reverse if needed. This is something that I plan on bringing up for my first service ( oil change ). I still only have 2300 miles so hopefully in a month I'll be able to have this adjusted or fixed somehow. I had a similar issue with the SantaCruz so for a while I thought it was something with Hyundai's. So far besides this I think the car drives fine. I do find this to be a shame because both cars were bought brand new from the dealerships. By the way the car does automatically put the car automatically with the hand park option and if it does not because the car is not in enough of a slant I always use the hand park option from habit from prior car ownerships.
