A quiet , solid vehicle with horrible driver interface and ergonomics
Good: Solidly built, quiet, with an upscale interior. Drives well, with strong acceleration for passing and merging.
Bad: very frustrating and angering "driver assistance and "safety" features. Worst is the driver facing camera that decides every 7-10 minutes that driver isn't capable, so interrupts music with dinging and message to take a coffee break. Always, on every drive, sometimes 10 minutes after getting into the car. That same camera shuts off the speed control if driver pulls up close to the steering wheel to stretch lower back or steers with opposite hand at 10 or 2 o'clock. That is the worst. There is an option to shut that camera off, but neither owner nor dealer can get it to shut off. Dealer says lots of 2025 owners complaining about that.
Next most irritating control is the hi beam stalk that won't turn high beams on unless pushed twice. Usually at dusk; sometimes in dark it does turn on with one stroke.
Next most irritating is the row of controls placed on the front edge of the center console. Brush your phone charging cord across those controls, or rest your forearm there and you will find that you just changed from Eco driving setting to
"snow" setting and turned on 4-wheel lockup. Or you turned on the hill hold feature.
Others: You'll enjoy the times when you are adjusting your AC when you get in on a 100° day, and your fingertip brushes the heated seat control beside the AC temp knob. You'll know what you did about 10 minutes later when the seat gets hot, as the heated seat "on" light isn't visible in midday sun.
And you'll curse until you learn that this SUV ("utility vehicle ") can't be backed up with the rear tailgate open.
Bad summary: dealer says that Hyundai may issue a software update to allow disabling of the face monitoring camera, as lots of 2025 customers are complaining. If they don't, this vehicle will be traded for another brand. I will not constantly be told by a machine that I'm not driving properly.
