Mixed feelings
I love the seats, gas milage and comfort of the ride! Connecting to Car Play was major hassle despite couple visits to dealer and Verizon. Once connected, love it!
I thought I had parking assist in addition to the back up cameras. I was very slowly backing up, watching the lines on the camera when bang, I hit a small tree! Never have I backed into something in 50 years driving and now I did with less than 2000 miles! The worst was I thought the warning wasn’t working! Other lights would pop on and off and I became convinced that the car was jinxed. After many weeks, I learned I could have an education session. Once I had that, I felt much more comfortable with the controls and display. However, I still don’t have parking assist - how can a car not have that???
During my class, I was also told about two things that concern me. First it was suggested to take the key with me when I pump gas because occasionally the door has locked with the keys inside!! What?? That should never happen!
Secondly I was told the smaller battery can go dead if car sits for a week or so, like at an airport, and that upon return the remote key won’t be able to open the door! Then I was shown how I have to unlock the door, but it is not the way Hyundai tells you to do it. Their method doesn’t work! I can imagine that this will only happen at midnight, either in the pouring rain or frigid snowstorm! Come on Hyundai, it should not be so complicated to use the manual key to get in the car. Is this all for theft protection? Cars have so many features, it just seems that a key concern would not be stranding someone over a key issue!
I hope my future months are more positive than my first two. I drive long distances by myself (69 yr old female). I got the new car because I wanted to have something reliable and help me feel secure on my drives.
Many of the characteristics below are difficult to answer after just 2 months.
