Hyundai Hybrid Review – 3.5 Out of 5 Stars
Overall, my experience with my new Hyundai Hybrid has been somewhat mixed. The vehicle itself is comfortable, handles well, and provides a smooth, enjoyable ride. From a driving standpoint, I’m pleased with the car and appreciate the benefits of hybrid technology.
The customer service experience, however, has been less than ideal. Following the purchase, I encountered several issues with the vehicle’s cleanliness and overall preparation for delivery. Resolving these concerns required additional follow-up and eventually an escalation to a customer care representative at the dealership. While the dealership was responsive, I would have expected greater attention to detail before taking delivery of a new vehicle.
One of my biggest frustrations involves the onboard SiriusXM satellite radio and its integration with the navigation system. When the MAPS display is engaged, the system does not consistently maintain the current SiriusXM program information, making it difficult to see what I’m listening to. This seems like a basic functionality that should be seamlessly integrated into a modern infotainment system, particularly in a vehicle with this level of technology.
Although the technology is generally impressive, shortcomings like this detract from the overall ownership experience. For a new vehicle, I expect the infotainment system to be intuitive, consistent, and capable of displaying essential information without requiring unnecessary switching between screens.
I would currently rate my Hyundai Hybrid 3.5 out of 5 stars. The driving experience is very good, but the dealership’s delivery preparation and certain technology limitations leave room for improvement. With better attention to customer service and refinements to the infotainment system, this could easily be a higher-rated ownership experience.
