Lots of buggy software, poor build quality

The software in this vehicle is buggy - I've had to reset the frozen dash computer four times since acquiring this vehicle in March. There are features that will engage the brakes at random, with no way to turn them off in the software. My tailgate hasn't worked properly since I acquired the vehicle. The poor dealer experience is the other part of the issue. It went to the dealer for an expensive 'repair' where they billed Hyundai for several thousand dollars but they apparently couldn't test opening and closing it using the remote or dash button because they gave it back to me and those functions still don't work. Would not recommend this vehicle or Hyundai.

Not having a garage control is ridiculous. My 2018 Santa Fe had it. That’s going backwards

OK car - forward attention warning system does NOT work correctly

Would love this car if this system worked better or was able to be turned off. It alerts if it senses the driver is not paying attention. It uses a camera mounted on the steering wheel. There are several pages in the owners manual about things that will cause the system to NOT work correctly. It includes sunglasses and eye makeup. If you are wearing sunglasses and the camera cannot see your entire face it sounds an alarm. If you don't correct the issue it will shut off your smart cruise control. I tried 3 different styles of sunglasses. I an either wear sunglasses while I drive OR have my smart cruise control set NOT both at the same time. I talked to dealerships in two different states and they are aware its a problem. Manual states you can deactivate this feature but in the 2025 Tucson it does not turn off. A software update is needed to allow the camera to be turned off by driver! If I had known this ahead of time I would NOT have purchased this car no matter how much I like the other things. Definate deal breaker!

Love it, I only wish it came with fog lamps and a cargo cover. I can buy a cargo cover but I think it should be standard.

Love most

We love most everything about it. But the motor shutting off while stopped should be included in personal settings. I hate always having to push the button each time I start vehicle. Also, the console between seats needs revamped. It cumbersome to get into. The camera that shuts off cruise control if not wearing non-polarized sun glasses is ridiculous. And we don’t like the rear hatch door not having the kick opening and shutting. But it is a beautiful car, has tons of great features and lots of safety.

Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Gaithersburg Md was easy to work with.

The vehicle is a great option for the current SUV environment. All SUV's from all auto makers need to come down in price. Andrew at Fitzgerald Auto in Gaithersburg MD. was nice, easy to work with, and took time on a Tuesday evening to personally deliver the SUV to our home. Good job Andrew!

Just have few things I am not sure about. Other than that it is fine

I like the vehicle overall and have not had any issues. The few things I don't like is all the new settings and computerized options that are really difficult to navigate to be able to get the best benefit of those options. I still have not figured out the cruise control which I would like to control myself not have the computer do it for me. The other thing is the rear windshield wiper which I feel is a poor design. I traded in a 2017 Santa Fe which I loved and had no issue with. This is definitley more of a learning curve than I thought it would be. I am also used to not having a manual passenger seat which the salesman did not tell me about.

Great vehicle except...

I love this car for so many reasons. The safety features on this car are wonderful except when I wear certain sunglasses it will shut off my cruise control and say my face isn't fully visible. So annoying!!!!!!! The cup holders are too small especially in the back seat center pull down. The storage behind the front seats are a joke, they are netting material. My stuff falls through and it takes 2 hands to put anything in them. Also there is NO storage in the rear of the car. Also there is a rattle in the drivers door when driving on the freeway and nobody seems to know what it is and I just have to live with it. UGH!!!!!

Even Better Than Expected

Only had it for 3 months so dar but generally very satisfied with amenities and overall performance. The big headline is the superb fuel efficiency. The car is rated at 28/33 MPG but I regularly get 30+ around town and have gotten 40+ on long trips!! The main downside so far is that the audio system is cheap and tinny sounding - pathetic considering today’s audio technology! Also, there is SO MUCH to learn about the operation and computer function. I’m a retired automation engineer and I am profoundly challenged by all of the subtle options. Still have not figured out all the display options. Also, the control panel is dimly lit and poorly laid out. The first night I got it, on the way home I turned on the AC and accidentally turned on the seat warmer with no idea how to turn it off. (Still hit it accidentally all the time but now I know how to cut it off!) A friend had an older model Tucson that drove and rode like a truck. This car handles and rides well and is fun to drive! I would definitely recommend it and would definitely buy it again!!
