Overall great but some issues
Overall the 2025 Tucson is a solid car. There are a few things that need to be addressed though.
The good:
The faux leather seats are a great way to improve look and feel without a larger price tag attached to it. The new digital cluster and infotainment screen at 12.3" each i think is the exact perfect size for driving. Smaller is hard to see and operate while larger would cause a distraction while driving. The size and trunk space are good size for the class of SUV. The connected bluelink service is also really great and useful. The sunroof in the SEL w/Convenience trim is really good but would love the option for the panoramic sunroof, but overall happy that was a option. The HDA is also another great feature and is very responsive. The software updates to consider polarized sunglasses have been great.
Now the, things that can be improved:
I wouldnt say anything is bad... but they could use improvements.
The wireless charger is by far the most ineffective option in the car. Half the time if i need to charge my phone I have to plug it in. It makes my phone uncomfortably hot, to the point where my phone has shut down before and google maps has stopped mid drive.
The Seattle buckles in the back need to pop out more. I fully understand the esthetic of recession the seat buckles down in the seat but practically as a father of a young child in a booster seat, I and my daughter have a very hard time getting the buckle latched.
More lighting is needed in the trunk space area. Its very hard to see anything at night with the light that is there.
The air conditioning system needs to be a bit more robust. I feel that it is too weak for a hot 95 degree summer day to efficiently cool the car down quickly, especially if you forget the remote start the car first.
Too many recalls are happening.
The emergency braking although a very passive and helpful feature, has also been dangerous... it activated a few time when I was far away from the car in front of me and has almost caused me to be hit from behind.
Needs more storage space in the space in the dash where the wireless charger is located. Also more trim levels should be equipped with standard 120V outlets in the front, back and trunk area.
Other that the wireless charging pad which really gets me angry.... the car is great, has been great and seems to hold its value well.
