A Step Above the Rest

My wife was looking for a vehicle for her 55th Birthday gift. Her first impression, when she was searching, is the front grill 'wow factor". My son asked if I had seen the Genesis. I told him that I have and I will take a closer look. My mistake was test driving the Genesis GV80 Prestige before test driving any other vehicle. I went and test drove a Cadillac SUV but I didn't like it because I compared it to the Genesis that I had test drove earlier. Long story short I ended up with the "blackish" GV80 Prestige with dark brown leather seats. My wife LOVE IT. This vehicle is a step(s) above the rest. I do not regret my decision and I will recommend this vehicle to any and every one.

Great SUV, but…

This is the 3rd GV80 I’ve had in the past 7 years. The 2 previous one were traded in for newer models due to recurrent mechanical problems. The first one was due to a faulty gas pump, and the second one was because problems with the differential. All three of them have had problems with the driver’s seat pulling back when you enter the car. It does it when it wants to. The new digital panel looks great but it is not easy to navigate. The salesperson does little to explain how to navigate it. Some of us are less tech-savvy than others, so the additional guidance would’ve helped. I’m wondering how reliable this GV80 will be after my previous experiences.

Driving Screen

When the time, city, and weather are on the screen, my hometown is spelled wrong and there is a three minute time difference between th pop up and the entire screen.

The car is good not great. I cannot believe it does not come with a spare tire. That is a huge miss and not something I'm gonna accept on my next purchase. Also having to make service appointments so far in advance is ridiculous. I used to have a Toyota and could go next day easy, still true because my husband still has one.
