This car has all the bells and whistles that the lower models don't.

I have driven lower models of the Ioniq5 and can see the difference that my car has. It is a pleasure to drive and has all the safety features one can ask for. It is plenty powerful and charges very quickly.

Battery issues common and inefficient in the cold.

Battery died in less than a year completely locking up the vehicle. Needs a rear wiper, the angle of the rear windshield. Needs climate control vents in rear seat. Miles per kW and charging is terrible during the winter. Front Bucket seats are uncomfortable.

This vehicle was totaled on 05/06/2025. It has been replaced with a 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited RWD. (That should say a lot about the Ioniq 5!)

One of the best EV's on the road

My Iconic 5 has been a great car, the fastest charging vehicle I have ever owned, The most comfortable and the fastest. Plenty of interior space for a small SUV and feels like a luxury car on long trips.

Quiet and exhaust-less with a quick charge

We chose EV too reduce noise and exhaust and we chose Ioniq because it charges faster , has a strong sporty look and drive . It also provides an easy entry since it’s midway between sedan and suv .

All-around vehicle

This is an excellent vehicle that also happens to be an EV. It has all the positive attributes of an EV and none of the disadvantages. It has instant acceleration for stop light pull-away and highway merges, great road feel, no harsh response over bumps and is just the right size for we empty nesters. It's extra-long wheelbase for it's exterior size gives it great stability on the freeway at 75 MPH and low center of gravity a nice solid feel as I go around curves. The 300 mile range in around-town driving is more than adequate and the 800Volt DC fast charging makes it easy to recharge on a road trip--that is if the highway DC fast chargers are working. But, that's a fault of the charger network, not my Ionic 5.

Nice, rattles and hard to find things in infotainment center

The rear gate rattles a lot, seat makes a popping noise, and the navigation system is fairly hard to use, finding studies and the council can be tedious, hd radio has lots of static had to turn it off because I thought the speakers were broken speakers were fine it was just HD radio

fun car to drive! Amazing electronics

we are really glad we are not polluting anymore. I charge at night for lower rates at home. I can charge up to 250 miles for $11.50 worth of electricity!! Match that with your gas guzzler

Spacious, stylish and comfortable car with technology limitations

The Ioniq 5 offers a comfortable quiet ride, has a spacious interior and is an overall handsome car. Unfortunately, it is also expensive and has outdated technology. No over-the-air updates of critical functionality, and the driver assistance systems have critical flaws.

It's a good value for money spent.

Ioniq5 is a good value for money. Charging time is very good. However, there are areas where it requires some improvement 1) Front seat comfort is not great for a long drive (1 hrs and above) 2) Braking vehicle to complete stop is not stable at times 3) Auto assist sometime auto brakes for nearby cars even though there is no apparent danger.

love this car, but...

I love this car despite weird software and design quirks. Whatever the rationales for were leaving off a rear wiper, having wireless charging but no wireless CarPlay, terrible navigation, and no manual access to battery optimization - they were wrong.

Mostly good

Love the design, spaciousness, and how quickly it charges. The app is clunky and requires a pin I can’t remember, and it’s a pain to rest everything all of the time. I have a trunk rattle that’s never been fixed. No ICCU problems yet (knock on wood) but the prevalence is concerning. Wish seats were more cushioned and supportive. Would prefer a way to control the screen without using touch, like a scroll wheel or touch pad. I feel the screen is too far away from the driver and I have to lean forward too much to interact with it. Wish more climate controls were available on hard buttons. The buttons are also difficult to see in the daytime and don’t show up well when using my polarized sunglasses. Same issue with heads up display. Wish there was a quick access way to change the display to dark versus light settings.

Good preference not worth the extra cost of the limited trim level

The limited trim is noisier then the sel trim The higher performance audio is taking a lot of space in the compressed yo SEL trim I like the mirror tilting down in reverse Parking assist is useful at all Front view on the windshield is not future rich and hard to adoption Side view is not helping
