Good ev
Very good looking vehicle with ok range. Have had it for about 4 months and 6k miles. It has been a pretty good ride so far. The look of the car is what ultimately made me buy it and I was also looking for an ev. I believe Hyundai have the best looking evs on the market. They do offer more features than their competitors and the charging speed is great. It takes about 20-25 min to get me back to 80% from 10-20% because most of the time the charger isn’t giving me the full 350k. Really fun car to drive and it’s really smooth. Although, if you like music the speakers are pretty bad. You have to crank it almost to max to get a good kick from the speakers and I got the limited which should have the “premium sound system.” The car rattles sometimes when I’m driving and it can be pretty distracting. I thought I left something in the back but then I realised it’s just the car. The range can be better. Comparing it to its competitors the 84 kWh battery it has is in the middle. If you don’t drive much this car will do the trick, but if you drive a lot like me you’re plugging it at least twice a week and if you don’t have access to a lvl 2 charger it can quickly add up and feel like you’re paying for gas when using primarily fast chargers. The turn radius also is pretty poor and I wish it would do at least another half turn after cranking all the way so trying to fit in a tight spot is more challenging. Finally to address the elephant in the room the iccu. Fortunately for me I have not had any issues but I was plagued with anxiety when I saw online how many people had this issue. I hope I never run into this problem and if I do I hope Hyundai does a good job of taking care of it. This is my first Hyundai I have ever purchased, and could potentially be my last if the iccu ever goes out, so I can’t really vouch for the reliability of the car long term. But so far at 6k miles it has been great and have had no problems with the vehicle.
