Love This Car!

Everything about the car is great! The lack of a rear wiper is its largest liability with the 24 model (included with the 25 model). The ability to pre-condition manually would also be wildly desirous. However, the experience of owning the vehicle has been deeply positive and enjoyable!

Avoid until they fix ICCU

Every model year they have had ICCU problems and recalls, and dealerships are backed up to deal with this promptly. The IONIQ5 is a decent car, but having issues fixed is a hassle. Based on the ICCU issues alone, I wouldn’t recommend this car until Hyundai can sort it out.

we love this EV!

Love the looks, ride, and safety features. Above all the charging speed and range compared to our previous KIA Niro is what sold us on it. With the 2 year Electrify America deal, we have driven from AZ to Calgary Canada and back on Electrify America.

Excellent choice. I drove most all the small electric SUV’s and this was the best. Great metal area on dash to left of instrument panels to mount magsafe iphone mount. Would be nice if this was “built in” with charging. I have a trailer hitch with bike rack. Would be nice if I did not have to turn off the parking sensors every time I want to back up. If the car could remember my settings, this would be awesome.

Good. Just need to improve the breaks

My only complaint is the breaks. The tires squeal during stopping more in this car than any other I have ever driven. (Including at least 2 other EVs). When the breaks are wet during rain and I’m coming to a stop going down hill, the car/breaks sort of shudder. It’s quite odd and disconcerting. Make the breaking and stopping smoother and I would consider keeping the car.

Poor design, bad 12v battery

No back wiper, hatch extend over the bumper and is first to hit an object when backing up, battery died in 1.5 years, service is variable
